what size caliper bolts are on the rear of an sri?

i could only find torx bits on halfords and not any allen bits, so i assumed theyre the same fit

The caliper frame bolts are 55T on the fronts, which is different to the caliper holding bolts.

Jason you will have a frame to remove as well.

You need to remove the calipers away from the pads, then remove the frames to be able to remove the discs.

I don't know what size the rear frame bolts are, having never done an SRi.

I just use one of the hex bits that came with my impact driver. Alternatively you can just remove the pads, apparently it gives enough clearance to get the disks off (if that's what you were after doing):

It comes off at about 1:58 with the caliper still in situ, before that you can also see him backing off the adjuster.

did the front discs on mine and they were torx (T55) and thread locked in too, so i doubt ya would shift them with just a normal allen key

Steve, are the SRi rears the same as the other 406 with disc at the rear?

I got the impression that the SRi had a different setup, going off what Jason was describing.

If they are the same, then I was wrong anyway.

All the rear disk callipers are the same - Teves
4400 H8 - LEFT
4400 H9 - RIGHT

Actually, thinking about it, one of the bolts is a hex socket head with a cap over it, the other is just a normal hex bolt head.

just had a look and the bottom bolt is just a bolt, and the top one is an allen, i put a 6 allen in and it seemed to fit, but is this just because its just under a 7 but a 7 will fit with no rounding? or are they sometimes a size 6?

got the caliper off but but cant get carrier bolts off, frozen stiff, what can i do? cant get the t55 torx on front carriers off, and the bolt on the rear caliper is stiff as hell aswell, what does everyone else do?

What are you using to try to undo the bolts? A ratchet? T bar?

Use a long breaker bar or add a piece of pipe or anything to extend your T bar or ratchet handle.

Yeah the rear discs can be changed with just the caliper off.

im using a 1/2 inch wrench with a t55 torx bit, but the torx bit is about an inch long for some reason and i cant get the torque on it, and i tried it close with a spanner on the bit and it just wont budge, really tight

mine was a 6 for some reaosn on the top bolt, annoying as i went and bought a 7mm caliper key, why is mine a 6 and everyone on here says 7? i used a torx bit in the end
