Very late D8

Post by hammerman »

I saw a W reg(march 2000-sept 2000)green D8 glx petrol saloon at the weekend.Slatted grill,frosted headlights,side indicators in lower plastic trim.Not a D8/D9 cross as i`ve read/seen on the forum.The lady owner would`nt allow me to take a pic,even though i showed here my 406 with my 406 oc sticker on it
Is this the lastest D8???Or has anyone seen a newer D8????

a private plate has to be year related, ie: not make the car look newer than it is,so if you have an 04 plate car you cant have something like NL0555 B.
was it not an irish plate :?:

If the Republic then it will be an import, the 98-D-12345 or so plate will *have* to change.

If the North, then it is kinda an import but the numberplate can be retained as it is still a UK plate, so it is possible to have a WEZ 1234 plate on *any* age of car.

NL05 SSB shirley?
Tis true, no W private plate for a pre-W aged car.

That's another point, it could be an Isle of Man plate

eg.

W123 AMN

It is not W reg but has a similar format to GB.

Funnily enough, looking through the service history, my Accord originated on the Isle of Man. Explains why the V5 has it listed as a Honda 2 axle :)
The numberplate on it though could almost be Isle of Man:
MNZ xxxx

Best UK style numberplate I saw was a friend at university from Guernsey who managed to drive his car all the way to Scotland. His numberplate was something like:

Isle of Man plates don't neccessarily need to have a GBM identifier.

I've seen them with UK style plates that wouldn't look out of place as UK plates, other than the "MAN" or " * MN" letters.
