Executive Leather into a GTX D9

Hi Guys,

i have a 2001 2.2hdi estate gtx and have purchased a full set of leather from a 2000 executive including ecu and switches
will my car have the wiring in it for everything ( my seats are electric but not heated ) or do i keep my ecu and lose the heated function in the new interior???
dont wanna start swapping bit before seeking your advice so anyone out there who can advise me???

Your new seats come with an ecu but did your car already have the memory function? If it did then it should already be there, including the heated seat wiring as far as I know. If they were non-memory then you'll need to wire them up to your single feed - wire the switches straight to the motors, add an earth to the backrest switch and bin the ecu - it wouldn't have done anything anyway. I'd still expect the heater wiring to be there, it turns out mine has it and none of it is electric. The seat heaters have nothing to do with the ecu, if that's what you're asking.

So can I just pop the seats in and use them like my old ones with just electric movement ? I'm not fussed about memory or heated seats !!

It's slightly more complicated if your seats originally didn't have a memory ecu but yes, more or less.

When you fitted yours, did you just plug the loom in that you got from Stealthe or did you have to sort out a live feed?

I love the past tense "When you matter transported your car to the UK to fit Stealthe's seats..."

I managed to find wiring diagrams on the French forums which I've sent to my dad, who was able to figure out how to wire the seat up without the ecu. I couldn't see any point in wiring the ecu in, partly because it would have ended up on the passenger side but mainly because everyone says it won't work anyway. Apparently he did need the wiring Stealthe sent me for the connectors but I wasnt going to post up what he actually did until I've seen it myself. Oh, and the biggest surprise was the wiring is already present in my car for electric seats with heaters, I've only ever seen the wiring for seats in a D8 and didn't realise this was all trimmed down to two connectors in the D9.

So I gotta hope when I drop the drivers seat out that the plug is the same then I can just plug and play, don't like the idea of home electrics!!

the plug for the motors will be the same .

you may just have to do without heated option..

there all usually just plug and play. i have a 406coupe ECU in my saloon 406 that controls the motors and allows use of the heated function.

my seats were out of a D8 406 and the coupe ECU plugs were exactly the same

Coolio, not bothered about memory or heated of it's cold I'll have a coffee while it warms up and I'm the only one who drives it !! So should be an easy fitment, I've done a 206 interior before and I put gta seats in my 156 so as long as it's somewhere between the 2 on the difficulty scale I'll be fine .

it will be a straight swot for the simple motor power .
memory isnt needed even if there is 2 drivers. its easy just to hold the switch and move it anyway

got the seats swopped over today, had to change over the loom and seat switches in the drivers seat but all working fine
happy days.
