My D8 Dilema

Post by Roylewaa »

As a few of you may know ive had constant problems with my D8 since I bought it and it owes me a few quid to say the least

Anyways my father in law gave me a proposition today that if I sell my 406 for at least £400, I can have his D8 for that

Here it is
Image
Its a 2 litre petrol LX, exackly same spec as mine, apart from mine has aircon with manual mirrors and his has no aircon with leccy mirrors :|
Bodywork is genarally good with only 1 rust scab the size of a £2 coin on one sill and what looks like an area of bubbling underneath the sill, and a small crack in the corner of the front bumper, mechanically it's sound, slightly less milege than mine (140k), same model, same age, same test, slightly shorter tax, new tyres all round which have done less than 1000 miles, full new exhaust, top end JVC head unit

Mine needs 4 new tyres, a new centre exhaust, bottom engine mount is nackered and most of all it has intermittant running problems, 1 day its fine, the next its not. Bodywork wise mine is in about the same condition, however mine has no rust at all anywhere

It drives much nicer than mine, feels tight with lighter power steering and a much more smoother positive clutch, mines all soft and lurches around and sits lower almost like my shocks have had it

Obviously mine in the 7 seat version, so I would be swapping that over if I decide to do it, but I really don't know as I have a love/hate relationship with mine and kinda got use to it', faults and all

Any advice, whad'ya reckon chaps, ye or ne :?:

If you can live without the air con, go for it - yeah, I know we don't get to use it much, but................. :D

thats my thinking aswell lozz, for some reason I do prefer mine, the problems mine has are just ware and tare items at the end of the day, I prefer the metallic grey to the red, side by side with my father in laws the red one does look shinier and tidier, although a good days polishing of mine would sort that

Ok mate cheers, just let me know and we'l sort something out regarding collecting them

thanks again :)

Defo keepin the grey thunder now, as having to fork out for a set of tyres on top of everything else, normally would'nt be a problem, just money at the mo is non existent with a new addition to the family and the small fortune ive spent keeping the car on the road
