Christ knows
You'd have to do some careful measuring but I'd still be cautious (although you could always sell it on). Also, the back seats are so different between the D8 and D9 that they won't fit, I've no idea how this would relate to the Xantia.

Re: Xantia interior in a 406?
The grab bar on early models was handy for nervous passengers. Replaced by an airbag in laters.
My Xantia had basic climate control ie. an aircon button and a lever cold -> hot.
Fan lever went nothing->nothing->nothing->noting->~Full speed.
It wouldn't be the interior I would move to the 406 (bar a certain lever....), it would be the hydraulic suspension (this lever!).
Theoretically possible I would imagine, but probably not worth the effort.

Reminds me of the time I read a Lada Riva handbook...
For ventilation, open windows

for comfort i dont find the xantia any better than the 406. If you like your car angular and to look slighly like a lotus esprit then this is the one.

imight be getting a full xantia which as full leather and a hdi lump ,

Re: Xantia interior in a 406?
Don't think so. Where the Zantia is a hatch, the rear backrest is just the 2 fold down pieces whereas the 406 saloon has the cushions on the outside separate. I do know that the metal base from the rear squab & won't fit the 406 spongey bit (406 saloons don't have a metal base as the seat squab isn't designed to fold up), but I can't remember if it looked like it would fit to the actual car.
Having looked at pics of my old Xantia, the front seat looks very similar & I reckon there may be half a chance that the rears may fit an estate. In fact having looked at the pics of the whole interior, there are a lot of parts that look similar to my 406. Will try & get the pics uploaded.

I sat in the back of a zantia last week. The back seats are a different shape to the 406.
Re: Xantia interior in a 406?
theres 2 sorts of rear xantia rear seats,
1 as sepreate peices like arms
the other is squrae no seprate peices,
so ipresume theyre was 2 models of xantias just like the D8 /d9 for eg
ithinks the fronts will fit tho,
from what ive read the 406 as the same floor as the xantia as thats where it came from

Re: Xantia interior in a 406?
This is from a 96 SX model:

& this was my 2000 HDi:

Both were hatches. You can see the rear mountings of the front seats & also note the identical height adjustment mechanism to the 406. Can't quite make out whether they had the separate side pieces though, so not too sure on the comment of seeing 2 different types. Perhaps the hatch models had the separate cushions & estates didn't or vice versa?
Also had a glance at pics of my old C5 & that looked like it had similar front seat mountings, but again, not sure on the rear seats.

Re: Xantia interior in a 406?
I do wish people would stop calling me wave - it's a u not a v.
But the seats in that pic don't look that far different - apart from the material. I'd say going by that that the hatch models have the side pieces & the estates don't. The only thing that may cause problems would be fitting hatch seats to a saloon as I think the Xantia hatch seat bases folded forwards & had the metal bases whereas 406 saloon squabs are fixed. Could possibly remove the metal bases from the Xantia seats & they may fit in the 406 that way? Really am wondering about fitting Xantia or C5 leather into a 406 now though as the seats really are comfortable & I have a feeling they came with manual adjustment?
