question ?

why would you wanna put xantia seats in a 406 anyway . thats a bit strage in my opinion.

get yourself a nice set of leather from a 406. they will definately fit in your 406

even D9 leathers will fit in a D8 and vice versa - the back rest needs to be changed over the the relevent frame.

ie if you get D9 seats to go in a D8 you will need to change the frame over for the rear back rest only , everything else will fit straight in

Think I may be able to put this to bed. Have had a look on the Citroen equivalent of Servicebox (same layout, but all in French) & the seats are different. 406 front seats have 3 horizontal mounts, but one of the mounting points (at the front next to the centre console) is slightly diagonal. Xantia front seats have 4 horizontal mountings. Rear seats look similar, but the squab has a different shaped contour underneath which would probably prevent it from sitting right. Same goes for the C5 interior - front seats have 4 horizontal mounting points. Admittedly, there is still a possibility of adapting the parts to make them fit i.e. mounting Xantia seats to 406 bases, but it would be experimental, time consuming & of very little benefit considering how cheap a 406 leather interior is. Mine is probably the most expensive purchase in recent months (£250 for half leather with 4 doorcards & the black dash parts inc carriage) & many people are getting hold of good leather interiors for little more (or less than) £100.

Whereabouts are you? Most of the ones I see that go cheap(ish)are up North. Mine came from Norfolk, but cost £50 to get it shipped. If you find 1 that goes cheap enough, you may still be able to get it to your door for less than £150 & that's still not unreasonable. Plus you have the advantage of not having the seat airbags (which mine has) which allows you to fit any set of seats you like.

Maybe I should look for bits for you & you can look for bits for me? Everything I find is up North.

Yeah, I travelled to London to get mine, but luckily managed to tie in with a delivery job I had

I'm also reducing the mileage on my car from 12k to 8k
Although i'm always up the M6 corridor, so if I want anything i'll be looking that direction
