Re: Sunroof
the water still seems to go down into the scuttle though.
Whats in the gaps.
Whats in the gaps.
Re: Sunroof
farmerpug your car is missing the seal that goes all the way accross the top of the screen as you can clearly see on the ebay pic i put on here for you to look at, save the pic then you can enlarge it as much as you want but like i have said all you need is the top seal .
oh and where else is the water ment to go from the screen
thats why there is a drain from the scuttle panel into the engine bay

Re: Sunroof
I have a bit of the top seal its just not meeting the edges. But anyhow ive done some investigating today, on the breaker car. I pulled away at the seal on the drivers side on the A pillar.
Its held in with torx screws:

Behind the seal is this:

I suspected this part is causing my squeak:

I went to my car looked at the seal and sure enough that plastic bit where the screw screws into is not sitting flush on the metal. Which probably would cause a squeak. So im thinking of getting new ones of these (What are they, part number, ebay listing, ebay search criteria?) If i could replace these then stick the seal back on with some of the fantastic tiger seal i think the squeak can go to hell and stay there. Perhaps a bit agressive on the old squeak but it deserves it.
Can i be a bit of a prat and continue to ask for a more detailed picture of the corner of someones windscreen. Sorry about this but i just want the same picture i took of my corner just on someone elses windscreen. If possible.

Re: Sunroof
still confused arnt you.
well anyways ihope this will help,
the top seal sits under the side peice if you pull up the side peice there is a very small gap but the gap is only slight.
im not sure if that top seal is bonded or its a floating seal which pushes in ,
ididnt want to pull mines up too see if it was or not incase ifurked it up,
but if it is afloating seal check the other side is the gap the same size?? if it isnt its possible its just moved over making it look like the seal as been shortend,
ive had cars before where the seal as not been on right and its run under the side seal and found its way into the car,
windscreen bonding is never 100% water tight.

Re: Sunroof
the top seal is ok, the leak was i think a bit of rubber not in proper in the sunroof. But now im on about that rattle agian.
The screws the seal along the a pillar goes into screw into plastic things, i need new plastic things. Im 76.23% sure thats the cause of the irritating squeak.

Re: Sunroof
Mine squeaks abit,
but thats something todo with the cover that goes behind the wing mirror on the inside,
if you get what imean ,
the door/s card squeak and the side squeak is on both my 406s,
the vreg one has a creak on the rear door card too, its anoying but ijust put it down to the age of the cars and with everything being plastic dont help,

Re: Sunroof
Nope i did some scientific research involving a stethoscope, and a pencil its definatley up round there, i heard the rattle up there stuck an ikea pencil in the area and the squeak stopped. It must be that thing the screw goes into. I need new ones, then ill bond the seal on with tigerseal, the track for drainage is down beside it.
