New peugeot to the fleet!
As the price of fuel looks set to go up and i refuse to part with my 8 valve turbo estate i need to reduce costs. So i now have a Peugeot vivacity 50cc slowped! Simply cos it costs me 30 quid a week in fuel to get to work. The ped does 90mpg cost 15 quid tax for the YEAR and only 60 quid insurance, plus it was 100 quid to buy! In six weeks it will have paid for itself! Okay its slow and not much good in bad weather but it would save me over 1200 quid a year at todays pump prices.
98, Executive turbo estate in aluminum silver. The stealth wagon! Now departed, New project Xsara VTR-8 in progress, Next Project, 406 D8 / JAP. So will be looking for a 406 again when the xsara is done!

Nice one. Should be grand for the spring / summer. You'll be able to nip in between queuing traffic too!

Re: New peugeot to the fleet!
This is something I have been lightly considering and almost laying up the T5 until the situation improves (although whether petrol prices will fall again I don't know) the thing is my trek to work is a swift one covering high-speed rural roads. I'd need a scooter that can touch 70mph so I can stay out of everyone's way. Can you get 125cc twist & go's on a car license? my mate had a Gillera 180cc scooter years ago and that thing would out-accelerate anything off the lights and push 100mph

You still need to pass your CBT though an it's only valid for two years if you don't do your full bike test.jamjar1383 wrote:welly u can ride a 125 bike on a car licence

Re: New peugeot to the fleet!
I reckon I'd enjoy tazzing along early in the summer mornings, I set off about 06:30.
Biggest problem is my whole family are dead set against motorbikes since my cousin was paralysed in an accident - I'd probably never be spoken to again if I got a bike

Re: New peugeot to the fleet!
I have been informed by SWMBO that a bike is completely out of the question and to stop going on about it

Re: New peugeot to the fleet!
Ther are drawbacks though. it only does 45 (after de restriction
) and ive been experimenting with roller weights. My nephew is right into his scooters and been telling me to get a 125 but id need to do a CBT then. I have a 7 mile dual carriageway to negotiate without getting mopped up, but i see more and more scooters down there all the time now. I can live with 45mph though i think.

Re: New peugeot to the fleet!
I'd definitely want a 125cc so I could keep up and keep out of the way. Doing a CBT isn't too much trouble I thought? I think you'll get fed up with a 50cc really

The economy is brilliant, even on my 500cc. £20 to fill up gives me 240 miles if I ride sensibly
To be honest learning to ride makes you a much better car driver, you are far more aware of what's going on around you.
I've been riding for 13 years, luckily my wife loves riding pillion (when we get a chance
