How to remove the Electric window mechanism, window, and rear quarter window.
I am doing this on the back of a D9 because i forgot to take pictures of the front. But the back is more difficult than the front. But still quite easy.
So anyhow get the door cards off, cry about having to take the o so valuable white sealing sheet off and consider the cost of a new one while doing so, and we arrive here:

If your going to disconnect the wire to the motor here is the proper place to do it, that tab on the top pull it up and then pull the connector out:

Alternativley if breaking the car use a pair of hedge seceteurs and snip the wire leaving plenty of wire:

Now get a 10mm socket, or wrench, but a socket with a rachet on is easier:

Undo these 3 bolts:

they hold the thing where the gears are, with all 3 bolts out it looks like this:

It only needs to come forward about an inch:
You may see its possible not to take the bolts off fully as theres holes for them, but a few more turns has them off fully so unless your ratchet is going to break in 10 more clicks its easier to keep going.
Then there is this bolt at the bottom holding the track in place:

undo it
Then the same for the bolt at the top of the track:

Thats 5 bolts or perhaps nuts (i cant remember the difference) taken out.
Push the bottom of the track inwards, ie where the bottom bolt went:

Then push the big gearbox thing inwards:

and the same with the top bolt, just push it into the door:

I was unable to push it in so i had to put my arm in and pull it from within the door:

Now your free to pull at the motor, dont worry the assembly is held together with cables:

so it wont break, pull the motor slightly out of the hole so it looks like this:

note the top bolt catches on the hole if you set it there right so you can work at the motor easier, anyhow get a starhead screwdriver and remove the screws, 2 at the top one at the bottom:

(on the front doors the motor is mounted onto the gearbox thing with allen heads.)
thats the 3 screws:

Pull the motor back a bit, dont go further back than 1cm:

The reason why no further back is you will open up the motor and then you would have to realign the bushes which is tricky, so its best to hold the front in place:

Pull the motor back on out of the gearbox thing. Its helps to turn it out, on the front this is necessary for you to turn the motor out, on the back its possible to just pull it straight out:

thats the motor.
If you want to change your motor now is the time.
If you want to change the full mechanism or take out the glass then continue. Put the gearbox back into its holes. with the motor out there is nothing to stop the window freewheeling back down, dont worry the window wont smash to the bottom as soon as the motor comes out, it just makes it possible to push the window down manually wheras the motor locked it all up. You need to put the gearbox back in place so the window will slide down right:

Slide the window down, i found the front ones went down with both hands pushing them but on the rear ones it was a bit tighter so i used this method.
Put a screwdriver between the seal and window:

pry it, dont worry it doesnt leave a mark:

at this point slip the screwdriver into the car:

now pry the other way:

open the door, put a hand each side of the screwdriver and push the window down, not fully leave about 1 inch:

Now on the inside of the door you will see the bit holding the window:

Push the tab in the circle with a screwdriver:

get your hand in behind the glass to keep the tab open or else it will pop back in:

now pull the glass up with your other hand until it clears the holder:

Now remove the window track seal:

Just a bit of prying and pulling removes it. These are changeable even when the doorcards in place.
Now then on the front windows move the glass up and it should come straight out. On the back its a bit trickier, and i found it was easier to take out the rear quarter glass.
There is that black metal bar you see on the back window its coming out, so get a torx bit because there is 2 torx screws to come out. This one at the bottom:

(incidentally rust may plague this part i suspect you can remove it without needing to take out the window, just pull off the seal and you have access to these bolts then paint it)
then there is this other bolt at the top:

Pull the bar towards the middle of the car:

then pull it straight up and out:

There is what this part looks like when its out:

The remaining bit of glass im calling it the quarter glass:

Get a good grip on the glass like this:

actually open the door keep it steady, get 2 hands and firmy hold the glass then push it forwards:

an inch is plenty, then tilt the glass outwards, and pull it up and out of the car:

thats that out with the seal intact:

now on the back doors you can move the glass out:

and theres a neat pile of spare glass windows:

Now for the mechanism, im sure theres ways to avoid the other steps and take just this out. But with all the other stuff out heres how it comes out.
the top of the mechanism should point out the hole:

clamp the cable inwards:

pull the gearbox on out:

and here is it out:

some close ups:

the bit that holds the glass:

see the tab:

the box with the gear thing:

and thats how to work at the windows.
