Did you nickname it kitt.
The nightrider car, that was the coolest car in the world. But it probably went into economy mode after suffering BSI failue.

Re: How not to sell a car
In fact my very first car was a Fiat Strada, if you squinted it almost looked like a lancia delta intergrale, in the dark, and without the sexy arches, and right hand drive, and with different coloured doors, and no floor. but i did put a 105 twin cam motor in it with twin 40 delortos.
After that i had a Panda (with bull bars
) that seized up on me
Then i was given a fiat uno 999cc which i dropped a turbo ie engine in and some rear shox from an old merc 308D van, it handled A-mazing
would cock its back wheel

Re: How not to sell a car
its good to meet another ex fait owner.
Im sure you have suffered some form of mechanical or bodywork or electrical issue with it.
But theres still something about an old fiat, its always a bit special. An old crusty hyundai for example would never be as good as an old crusty fiat.

You just dont care that it will spend more time being broken, because, they have a soul.

Re: How not to sell a car
Same with my panda, it had a soul. On paper it wasnt much but it was the most exciting car ive owned. A friend bought a diesel golf the same time i got my panda. Couldnt understand why i got a yellow fiat panda. Then one day he was in it i took the panda round some country roads he left understanding what a small fiat is all about.
Unfortunatley it come to an end with a head gasket caused when the frost hit it. Not technically fiats fault no antifreeze was in it. Bar that 100% reliable.
If i could afford one id buy a Panda 100hp for fun.

Re: How not to sell a car
Strangely ive never had a fiat that had rust,
my first fiat ar well it wernt a fiat but it was one Yugo yastava was mint it was 100% fiat and igave £300 for it
it was 2 yr old motor, an old woman sold it me as her hubby had passed on,
ilooked after it but unluckily i had to crash that one
the Alfas ive had have been clean motors no rust,
the fiat marea ive not long sold on looked like it had just come out of a showroom totaly mint on a w-reg,
it only had 42k on the clock, but the cam belt pulley was starting to yawn so isold it on quickly didnt fancy taking the engine out
to sort it,

Re: How not to sell a car
Ive had a lot of jap cars, and one nissan 200 had a soul, i think it was the soul of stephen kings christine, it tried to kill me a few times, and that was before i had even put an engine in it
I was given it as a rolling shell, which i trailered home, well as far as the little house on the prarie on the M62 when it threw me off the motorway and down the embankment
