HELP Quick!!!!!!
Hi guys need some urgent advice.
my car went to a local garage for a new deisel tank seal and after repairing they promptly crashed it damaging front wing bumper headlight and fogs.
today they told me they dont provide courtesy cars and said they would attempt a repair, i popped in at 5 pm to find them attempting to attach a mk1 headlight bumper and wing to my mk2 estate, i told them this was not acceptable and he told me as long as the car was made safe his insurance company were happy to give me the car back!!!
surely this cant be right anyone kn ow the rules or laws around these things?????????????????

Re: HELP Quick!!!!!!
Phone trading standards! The car should be given back to you the way it turned up!
Besides a MK1 headlight wont fit without a MK1 Bonnet, Slam Panel alwell as the wing. I doubt theres an insurance company involved, I bet it's just them paying for it out of their own pockets. Tell them you want it repaired at a bodyshop of your choice and they will foot the bill for a courtesy car and any loss of earnigns
Tell them you've also been in touch with trading standards

Re: HELP Quick!!!!!!
Hopefully that's an attempt to make the car legal to drive, then you can get it off their forecourt and sort out the insurance claim later. Balls to that!
I can imagine them making things a whole lot worse, especially trying to fit the wrong parts to it. Trading standards, your insurance company, Jeremy Beadle.

Re: HELP Quick!!!!!!
mate. go back and threatan them with consumer direct. you have to ring consumer direct . and its them who contact trading standards on your behalf
tell them you want the car repaired. NO , demand they fix that car or your reporting them.
DO NOT take that car back from them untill its fixed. leave it in their hands.
its their resposibility and they will fix it.
give me their telephone number and your reg. i will get on the phone for you. they will soon get their arse in gear.
(i hate garages that rip folk off cant fuckin stand it)
ive been in a similar situation before mate consumer direct will sort it for you if the garage refuse.
PS- im serious about their tel number and your reg. i will ring the fuckers for you . i know what to say to make them do it.

Re: HELP Quick!!!!!!
as bailes says . no insurance company will be involved yet (and there probably wont be 1 involved)
you need to do what i said.
mention consumer direct to them mate. bet they get their arse in gear then.
my mobile mechanic failed to do a job correctly and would not rectify the fault made by him. the second i mentions consumer direct he did it in a flash.
(the consumer direct is not a blag to make them do it, consumer direct will make them do it via trading standards)

This consumer direct is a new one to me, I'm just looking at their website and they seem like something we needed for a long time and exactly who you need to talk to.

They have to foot the bills for either a courtesy car or loss of earnings. If I was you I'd phone tradign standards first.gtxtank wrote:Hi Guys ,

Re: HELP Quick!!!!!!
What a fu*ker. Stand your ground, dont let them bastids do something like that about. You could try and put a metro headlight on a 406 but it wont work.
Re: HELP Quick!!!!!!
