Folding Electric Mirrors
What cars in the D9 range got electric folding mirros. I know executives did but did GLX, rapier or SE cars get them?

Re: Folding Electric Mirrors
Mine has them, apparently it's an ST (whatever that means, some dodgy Italian spec probably)

Re: Folding Electric Mirrors
but then there is glx and gtx.
Is there a spec sheet on the wiki yet that explains the different specs and the equipment offered.
Im confused about SE for example, did it replace executive, or was executive still available in 2004 what one is considered better.
And more importantly what specs had folding mirrors

Re: Folding Electric Mirrors
I think that right up to the end the 406 only came as an S an SE and an EXEC although the exec's seem to dry up around 2002/2003 in favour of the S range but certainly from 2003 ish the old LX/GLX stuff was dropped.
The S has 16" alloys, the Welton Panel, Silver/grey dash inserts, a Chrome eggsauce trim, the SE adds half-levvers, auto-dim mirror, possibly folders, Shyte-Nav, err.....dunno what else but it's kinda like an exec but not so exec-like
think both S and SE had a 6-shot CD?

Re: Folding Electric Mirrors
Coupe SE models have the folding mirrors. I don't think Coupe S trim has it.
From what I remember, Rapier is higher than LX but not as high as GLX. No idea what's included in each though - typically whatever Jean-Luc or Francois decided should go on the car that day at the factory; there's nothing like Peugeot consistency

Re: Folding Electric Mirrors
Peugeot consistency yes, its why you see some LXs going about with sat nav and my Executive without it.
But its a bit easier to follow than the trim levels of german cars, vw and audi being completley unfathomable in terms of trim levels, everything they sell has an SE somewhere in it. And ford i cant understand either, Ghia used to be a fairly posh spec but now i dont know if it is anymore, and i suppose you cant get wood in a new car because its considered old fashoned. Id still buy the wood over aluminium, but a bit of wood trimmed in brushed aluminium is really what i want.
Has the wiki got a section on trim levels yet, perhaps a big grid with trim levels one side and equipment on the other, then a tick if each trim level has that particular thing.

Re: Folding Electric Mirrors
I tried to put that together previously, but it was completely unfathomable, consistency being the big killer.
My own LX versus Waue's LX being case-in-point - there are so many differences I don't know where to start! Front fog lamps, arm rests, CD player, wood trim on the door cards ... the list goes on. Early LX is super-low spec (only difference between L and LX really being electric folding mirrors, digital climate control, and rain sensing wipers), later LX seems to be a lot more loaded with toys.

Re: Folding Electric Mirrors
that lx i bought was suprisingly well equipped full electrics, heated mirrors, trip, climate control ac even auto wipers. I was suprised.
I know some D9s were made without climate control but these must really be a very low spec, did this country even get that model?
Could be worse, we could delve into the world of the 405 specs. I know there was the exec it was good, but then there was the Mi16 and so many versions of it, and so many middle versions like gld, spdt, and style. Which from what i gather the word style on a peugeot means basic.

Re: Folding Electric Mirrors
I reckon these things can be listed as "optional extras", in Service Bucks it says something like "select pack" on the spec level, so perhaps the customer says what they want with the car and the dealer specs it up as "LX plus folding mirrors, fog lights, arm rests, ashtray full warning light..." so it's better speced than your basic LX but not quite enough to make it worth a GLX (or whatever). Or perhaps it's the other way, the customer specs up the car as a GLX and the dealer thinks to himself "if I sell him an LX with all the extra stuff added on it costs him another £500 and that goes straight in my sky rocket".

Re: Folding Electric Mirrors
As far as I know the GTX, SE & Execs were the only ones with power fold mirrors.
Rapier & LX would be classed as the same spec level, but for different tastes - along similar lines to what Ford did when they brought out the Titanium models which were the same spec level as the Ghia, but aimed at a "younger" market where they replaced the wood trims with chrome etc.
The list price of the Rapier & LX was identical, although earlier Rapiers (pre-2000) seemed a much better deal than the LX as the Rapier got front fogs & alloys while the LX had no fogs & wheel trims. When the range was revised in 2000, the Rapier got more of a separate identity, but you can see where there is a little bit of give & take on both sides. While the Rapier got the alloys & chrome ringed dials, the LX got armrests & slightly comfier front seats (Rapier seats are firmer than their LX counterparts) & up until 2002 you could only get a Rapier HDi with the 90bhp engine - the LX was available with 90 & 110bhp units.
