You can add gauges later if needed. Prob best to change all 3 at once anyway, thats what I normally do.
Rather than replacing the 50, get a washable 50 filter which can be reused once washed, about £15 ish.
B&Q fittings are usually hugely expensive, best going to Toolstation, Screwfix or online at bes.

just thinking when i had a pond i once bought a 2 pod water purifier which is the same item as these for £59.99
and that was just 2 pod

£30 for 3 now

I recently bought a 1999 2.0l HDi 110 Executive. I don't know which pump I have?
will it be suitable for vegy oil?

Nope sorry, cant use Veg Oil. For the HDi you'd have to convert the Veg Oil to proper Bio Diesel.
The equipment to do that costs a fair bit of money, £1k+ for decent system.

Nope, the hdi can't use veg at all due to it being a common rail engine.

I'm investigating doing about 100 litres per month, so such a system would be overkill.

On the other hand, I'd be happier with them filter housings than the rather heath-robinson filter sock and buckets technique.

The pump seems a bit expensive. Any other options?

Put all the crap in a cubee or container, keep it and some more will become good.
Only when its been left for a few mth without any good oil forming would I throw it away.
The crap is suitable to make Bio with, so you might be able to do a deal with someone who makes Bio.

Before using waste vegetable oil in your car it must be filtered and any emulsified water removed.

First it must be left in a settlement tank and heated up.

A tank with a tap at the bottom is best as it faciliates the removal of any water (which will be at the bottom as it is heavier than oil).

The tank needs to be heated either with an immersion heater or in a solar box.

As I understand it, the heating removes emulsified water.
But this step seems to be omitted here?

In any case, surely the oil should be filtered at the temperature at which it will be used?

Doesnt have to be heated, just leave it to settle, water settles at the bottom, so filter the good oil at the top.

It can be a little messy changing filters, but on mine now I leave the valves open and a lot of the oil runs back into the barrel I use, so not much in the pipes.
I put a bucket under the filter when removing it, so catch any drops.

Yep much easier to see which filter is blocked with the pressure gauges, make a note of the pressure when you first use it, then when its way above that pressure and not much coming out you know which 1 to change.

Heating the oil does not get rid of all of the water, the heat makes the water settle quicker, so its at the bottom, you then open the bottom valve and drain out the water until clear oil is coming out.

i'm running my car on KTC vegetable cooking oil now. have been for a few months now.

still running sweet. slight hunting when cold but after 10 minutes its smooth as .

Annoyingly i still haven't made the switch yet.

I know what i'm like though, i'll keep putting it off and then one day i'll just wake up and start using veggie oil.

I really want to start as it will save me money (im a student ha) and the highest price i've seen for diesel right now is £1.41p

Also do you have to get a jerry can to funnel it in to the tank?
