ithink the lexus is a nice looking motor ,
icouid go for an impreza but they last 5 mins iwant something thatl be worth its money and something that dont eat piston rings like the Scoobys do ,

the problem i have with the early is200 is the interior its a bit plasticy.
The newer model the one that offers the is220d is much nicer.

Theres plastic in all cars mate,
yeh the lexus as plastic but its all hard stuff no rattles its a solid motor,

if everyone didnt like plastic in a car ithink they be best with a pre 70s motor,

I like Lexuses (Lexii?). Had a journey in an LS once and it was uncannily smooth and effortless.
The Honda is probably the closest I could currently afford to one. Would be on my radar in the future, although probably a diesel or hybrid.

As Alan Partridge said they're the "Japanese Mercedes"

i was in an IS and had that problem with it, yes all cars interiors are made of plastic but this was a shiny plastic that looked too much like our old carina.
On the other hand The new is220d is a fantastic car though, very solid, the diesel is very smooth, much better than the 320d, and its well equipped:

Pre 2000 BMW 320i & 520i had 2 litre straight 6 engines with 150bhp.

Or you could be really brave & get a Mazda MX3 with a 1.8 V6.

If you want 6 cylnders and just 2 litres yes there was the rover 75 but it had a k series engine.
Then there is this, which if you buy means you overlook another 406 which is a bit mad, the you overlook a used is220d which is insane:

A lot of car for the money.

Always liked the Epica, shame no-one else did.

If they had fired a diesel lump in, it would have took off with the taxi drivers and fleets.

7k for a nearly new diesel barely run in!

How come they never sold? Rarer than a Cadillac.
