Help with antipollution faults please?

Post by Ga73 »

Hi all,

Well been over a week since i cleared my fault codes with Planet and most have cleared except for a few... can anyone point me in the right direction on these... the faults still showing are:

P0226 (Permanent fault: Accelerator pedal signal coherence with brake switch)

P0402 (Permanent fault: EGR Circuit airflow measured higher than recommended)

P0102 (Intermittant fault: Flowmeter signal open circuit or short circuit to earth)

I have blanked off the EGR valve with an ebay gasket without the hole in which i think maybe causing the second 2 faults (if i drill a smaller hole to let SOME gasses through would this solve the fault as it does on later Mondeo TDCis ??)

The first one has really got me stumped and I dont even know where or what to start testing...I did replace the TPS a week ago thinking it was a fault one but that hasnt made a difference so obviously the original one was okay too !!

Any help or advice warmly welcomed fellas !!

Thanks
Gary

Hi Ga73,
I'm only recently a 406 owner so by no means an expert.

I noticed that the three codes that you posted are all "generic" i.e. non-manufacturer specific faults (Because they start with a "0" E.g. P0, rather than P1), so I did a bit of googling and found the following suggestions:
P0102 - http://www.vi-performance.com/support/f ... P0102.html
P0226 - http://helpforcars.net/obd_codes/p0226.html
P0402 - http://www.vi-performance.com/support/f ... P0402.html

- I don't know whether this is any help to you - but I figure it's a start, a lot of sites seem to only list the "name" of code - but the ones above are a little more detailed.
Now if I can just fit the mods from "Taxi" http://tinyurl.com/3yug4g3

I can provide PP2000/Lexia 3 code reading/clearing in the East Cornwall/West Devon area.
