Just had mine looked at by a garage, as mine was idling badly (should sit around 750 - 800 RPM, but was going anywhere between 900 and 1800 RPM).

They took the throttle body off to clean it, and found that the gasket underneath it was perished and had crumbled away. They put a new gasket on and it seems to have made a difference. I've literally only just picked the car up from the garage, so haven't had the car back long enough to see if it's completely cured the issue - but initial signs are good.

They charged me £42, including VAT, for the hour or so of time they spent working on the car (they checked the air pipes, throttle position sensor, air box (etc) for leaks, which can cause similar issues). No charge for the part. Fingers crossed.

I'd assume so - it took the garage less than an hour to remove the throttle body, clean it, swap the gasket over, reinstall the throttle body, and test.

I'm a bit of a wimp when it comes to the oily bits under the bonnet  but if you're slightly confident, then I'm sure it'd be an easy enough job.

Try EuroCarParts or the Peugeot dealers themselves - I'd be surprised if it was horribly expensive.
