kev i would be collecting all that oil anyway mate and selling it.

theres a good market for waste veg oil if you can get as much as you like.

in my 1.9td i use new KTC veg oil from costco 20 litres £20.30p

thats £7 cheaper than pump diesel just for 20 litres

ive done 120 mile today alone just on pure veg oil. runs sweet mate. no lumpyness at all. its brilliant on veg.

i would say i cant wait till pump diesel hits over £1.50 a litre cos it wouldnt be fair on the HDi drivers
but you get what i mean im sure

then i'll be saving £10 per 20 litres of fuel

i have made the decision that at the end of june i am paid a bonus from work and will invest it in a 1.9 . would prefer it to be a 406 coz i am very happy with mine but poss a xantia. gonna start getting the veg and filter some thru so i can have a few test runs . seen the filters i need , the ones that can u hang and washable too. lik ei said previously will only need 25l or so a week ,as for selling it i might when i get into it and got it all sorted. seen some on the bay last night all pre filtered down to 5 micron sellin it at 85 p a litre. my petrol car runs sweet nothing wrong with it but when i can get wvo for nowt it seems silly not to give it a whirl,my mrs scoffs at me but it aint her forking it out filling it up, shall keep the petrol one for a while anyway just in case of emergencys the fuel saving should easily offset cost of insuring/taxing a 2nd car
heres the linky for the filtered veg :http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Waste-Veg-Vegetab ... 27b962f5c9the 3rd picture is the filters i plan on using

stevieboy and geordieboy will give you some good advise on filter systems.

machine mart seem to sell the pump every1 uses for this.

these filters seem to be great value, you can interchange the 10" filter cartridge as well . and this guy sells all sorts of them.

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/biodiesel-bio-die ... 1c18576bf7

i think geordieboy told me to do 50micron 1st then down to 25micron then down to 10micron then 5 then 1 micron.

so like a 5 stage filter system. you can connect those filter housings together to make 1 long 5 stage setup. thats what i was going to do.

manual is much cheaper anyway.

i was told to always carry a fuel filter in the glovebox and tool to change it,
cos they can get clogged on your travel and you end up stuck

ok quick update .went and got 5 litres of used oil from the bro in laws chippy today and it has set !! its now the consistency of ice cream . he warned me it did this too... he says its just a generic veg oil . is this the wrong type, or are certain oils eg sunflower /rapeseed better than others. kind of back to square 1 now.....

iseen some waste veg oil at the back of a restraunt iwas working on,
the top surface of it was hard like Lard,
but under that was good cleanish looking stuff,

it came in useful it was a cold day and it got a fire going in the yard iwas working in,

the stuff ican get is the kind that comes from cash and carrys in the big yellow drums icarnt remeber its name,
they dont fry pork or meat in it just chips as its all Halal stuff they sell so imight just get there old stuff off them
