Did Peugeot swop Sagem coil pack for Bujicord version

Talk about the 406's electrical system, what wires do what, how to add extra functionality, etc.

Did Peugeot swop Sagem coil pack for Bujicord version

Post by lakemaligne »

I drive a 1996 2Ltr 16v Petrol LX ,and would like to know if Peugeot stopped using the SAGEM coil pack on 406's, in preference for the BUJICORD/Other version in order to cure an erratic tickover/stalling problem. I ask this because along with an existing fault where my 406 intermittently revs up and down erratically if i start it from cold and then goes on to idle at 1200rpm if i engage neutral while coasting ,then jerk when i come on and off the throttle ,it has now started cutting out at traffic lights and hesitating/faltering while on the move.

Does any one know whether my 406 would have the Sagem coil pack unit fitted as standard ,and if so do i need to replace it with the Bujicord version as matter of course. So far i have renewed the following to no avail.

MAP sensor
Stepper Motor
Throttle Potentiometer
Oxygen/Lamda Sensor
Throttle cable
Recon Bosch ECU fitted
Auto Adaptives Reset

Could the Air Temperature sensor inside the air intake manifold be causing this erratic behavior ?
