Then I googled it and found out it wasn't a joke

Wind power wont really work on a calm day.FarmerPug wrote:There is wind, solar, or tide power.
Or even wood power, thats how the mushroom farm is heated, fuel bills are much smaller, and you can use words like sustainable, and clean.
That'd be fun with elderly passengers, or trying to get up some of the hills
Here is an idea i have:
A 4 seater car with bicycle pedals at each passengers seat, the more they cycle the more the battery gets topped up.
You can power on your TV twice a dayFarmerPug wrote:tidal power
the tide comes in and out every day.
What if you do want to drive more than 120 miles in a day? Just the odd day I mean. You've either got to faff around hiring a car (pricey if you want a decent sized one to go on holiday with!) or keep a fossil-fuelled car at your house, along with the inconvenience of tax, mot, insurance, maintenance (rust will be a problem, as will keeping the battery in shape, the rapid tyre degradation from not moving it, aircon seals leaking, etc)FarmerPug wrote:I think electric cars are not all that bad, how many of us do more than 120 miles a day, i only do about 10 a day, an electric car would be a handy thing for saving a bit of money.
Technically possible, as hydrogen is flammable.FarmerPug wrote:can they make an engine run on hydrogen, you would still have a bit of the niceness of the internal combustion engine.
