Can you put signs up on the lampposts in the area / through peoples letterboxes?
A wee picture and description eg. distinctive markings?

Also check the police station - occasionally people will find a lost dog and take them to the police station (I've done this a couple of times, and have also retrieved one of our cats that had got lost and had been handed in)

& check the local vets, that's where they usually take strays here (the police would probably eat them)

Was it chipped and/or tattooed? Btw all dogs here must be chipped by law but that's more to do with rabies...

Worth checking all the rescue / rehoming places you can. There's one in East Northants that always has a number of lurchers and other 'sight hounds' - apparently the pikeys nick them, then abandon any that don't turn out to be good for poaching.

Any pics Lozz as I will put them up on my Facebook as have a few friends in South Wales.

You must feel terrible mate as in a sence of loss. My German Shepherd was put to sleep last August. I had her since 8 weeks old and she was almost 12 years old when she left. I have her ashes safely so I know she is back with me. People look at me and think I am a tough guy as been bodybuilding since I was 22.....I am now 36 and I also teach kickboxing. I weigh nearly 16st, 6ft, 18" arms, 19" neck, 49" chest, 34" waist, 17" calves and currently have 14% BF. So built very well but when my Shepherd was put to sleep I could not eat for 4 days, floods of tears, could not work for 2 weeks.....To be honest I have just started to get over her.....did me right in so I really feel for you mate :(

Pic of my Shepherd........

The dogs really do become part of the family. My mum has 2, a Labrador / Retriever mix and a Norfolk Terrier / Jack Russel mix, and they really have their own wee personalities and are as much of the family as anyone else.
If anything happened to them would be really upsetting.

Ive had mine since he was a pup, i think about 4 weeks old at the time. If i go anywhere there he is wagging the tail beside me.
Its sad when pets go.

Thanks all,
the greyhound is not one of my own,
im just asking around on behalf of the owner,
its a retired dog that been injured in its career its a pet not a racer but it might of been taken by someone hoping it can race
hopefully it will end up at a flapping track it will get taken off anyone who as it then,

then theres the other worry,
sometimes greys are senseless once they get the wind on there face theyl run and run and take no notice of busses and trucks, :(

Great stuff, hope they get the dog soon.
My uncle got one of his berenese mountain dogs stolen one time, and got a call looking £2000 for the dog back.

Ffs, the dog was kidnapped and ransomed? Bastards!!!

It'll be very good news if it turns out to be the right dog Lozz.
