Just read v.good posting by Welly dated 2007 about replacing pollen filter. This reminded me to check my own. First time i had ever checked
a pollen filter. Easy to overlook. Mine was in a bad way, had 01/07 stamped on the side so presumably 4 years old. Anyway
I cleaned up as Welly had done and am looking for replacement filter. They seem to vary considerably in price eg on Europarts - presumably
reflecting difference in quality. Any suggestions as to particular make? Also checked air filter which was 2 years old but only done 3K! miles in that
time - still in vgc so left it and will recheck in a year's time. (Haynes says replace every 24K). I am thinking not to replace the fuel filter on the same grounds. Now I am now retired I just don't do the mileage.

Re: New Filters
filters are a bit overdue mate at 2 years old . it all depends on the milage of course but at the price they cost it is worth doing them.
i buy the cheapest pollen filter from euro car parts for my 1.9 TD and its fine, good quality.
the other filters ie air, oil and fuel only cost around £4 to £6 each so its definately worth considering doing them all while your at it .

Thanks Gary. Just ordered a new pollen filter on ebay.
