www.tescocars.com

Though at least unlike gumtree they should be inspected and have some sort of comeback.

Its ok, but i like gumtree, as much as i like to poke fun at some of the rubbish on it, the odd good thing passes through the net, and i can buy cheap cars and sell stuff free. Tesco cars seems like its only for good stuff, and sort of taking the job off auto trader, and i use it a lot aswell. So i dont really see the point actually because its better to keep things the way they are, gumtree for bangers, auto trader for good stuff.

Tescos seem to have been getting there fingers into alot of pies recently,
iwas talking to a wagon driver a few weeks ago when iwas parked at service station,

it was a Eddie stobart cab with a Tesco trailer
isaid how long have you been hauling tesco trailers he said didnt you know we are Tescos,
the driver was a bit Grumpy when imentioned this so itake it he wasnt happy in his job im wondering if tescos as took over stobart

the owner died last week, did tesco take over?
I dont like these big companies that take over everything, tescos, sainsburys, and all the high street shops they make every town suffer from a sameness.

The guy who died last week was Edward Stobart, the original Eddie's son, he was only 56 :( . Eddie is still alive. Edward ran the company since the late 70s after his father retired but his brother William took over in 2004.

I don't think there's any ownership links with Tesco, just the fact that Stobarts is their main haulage contractor, they've just set up a new distribution centre in Daventry from where they'll run 8 trains a day (Stobart Rail) as well as all the road transport stuff.

Google is wonderful!

McBurneys seem to have the Tesco contract in NI.

Saw a few Stobart lorries but with IRL plates. Must have a depot down south somewhere.

Gumtree has the odd gem amongst the rubble, but seems to be full of sellers selling crap cars or traders looking to buy a car for pennies and relist it immediately adding at least a few hundred to the original price.

I agree with Dai
I think someone told me they have a 600 million pound contract to do all tesco's distribution

It isn't actually Daventry, it's 7 or 8 mile up the road at Crick, but the distribution area, is called Daventry International Rail Freight Terminal, or DIRFT, but I can't seem to help myself and keep calling it DRIFT as it rolls off the tongue easier

Tesco is UKs biggest superstore. they have everything now.

in a few more years all the little corner shops will be run by tesco express

no other food chain ie, asda. sainsburys. morrisons can catch them

they are uks #1 by far and always will be. i know this because i use to work at a sainsburys distribution center 6 months ago.

they are in a different leugue to the rest.
