There's PS1 and PS2 emulators, NES/SNES emulators, Master System/Megadrive emulators, Gameboy/GBA/Nintendo DS emulators, Gamecube emulators, MSX emulators, X-Box emulators, Mac emulators, C=16/64/128 emulators, Amiga emulators, Amstrad emulators, BBC Micro emulators, Atari emulators, arcade machine emulators (MAME is excellent), fruit machine emulators...
Hell, you can even get an emulator for ENIAC and for the Enigma machine.
I loved the Commodore 64 because it was so versatile; it was a really modern computer, even back in the 80s - you could do so many different things with it.
And Elite was definitely one of the best games ever made - real pioneering stuff. When I moved on to the Amiga from the C=64, back in 1991, I made sure I got Elite for it. I then went on and bought Elite 2: Frontier, which consumed a huge amount of my time for years afterwards.
Nowadays, I game on PC and Playstation 3. We've got a Wii as well, but most Wii games are sh*t, and it almost never gets used. I still fire up my C=64 and Amiga emulators and play games from many years ago because they're still good games. Programmers back then had a lot of real talent, developing complex games for systems with very small amounts of memory and storage space. Gives you a real appreciation for their work.

Vice City Stories was the same city but with new missions, was worth it especially as it was only £20 new.

ah yes the psp version.
The engine noises were great, and there was a noticeable difference in FWD and RWD cars.

They used the PS2 game engine, so Liberty City and Vice City stories that I bought were the PS2 versions.FarmerPug wrote:ah yes the psp version.

GTA4 has noticable handling between different types of car.

Re: This is not a Commodore 64
Driver was great back in the day. Pre-GTA3.
Enjoyed the hidden Newcastle track too!
For the Dreamcast "Super Runabout" was a fun wee psuedo-GTA game. Not quite full sandbox but passed a couple of hours.

tukk er jerrbbs
Nico was from an unnamed country in Eastern Europe.
Eastern Europe != (NOT EQUAL TO) Poland.
They try and change the character types in each game, so the addons had a biker and an assistant to a nightclub owner.

Obscure reference to South Park that no-one gets
The characterisation in the GTA series is as good as many movies.
