White crust etc around thermostat
could this be the source of my losing coolant problem? i made a previous thread about my coolant light coming on every few months
Re: White crust etc around thermostat
i read on here about the gaskets or something leaking, will a new stat from eurocarparts come with all the bits needed?

stick your car and model in your signature mate then we know
yes mate a new stat should stop the water leaking out. its the actuall stat that has the rubber seal on it.
i changed mine last week. water stopped leaking immediately

yes it will be mate. as i said the seal is on the actual stat so your new one will come with a new seal on it.
if it still leaks when you change it you may need to change the housing bit at the front.
i dont know if yours is similar to mine but mine is plastic that bolts the stat in place and over time this plastic becomes warped and may not sit flush..

I'm pretty sure you can buy the o-ring on its own, you don't need to buy the whole stat.
