If I'm asking a really dumb question here please forgive me, I know not the mystical workings of the taxi world...

But...

Why don't you tell them to shove their job up their bums and go work for a rival firm?????

Amazing isn't it?

You would think that a Taxi operation should be fairly simple (apart from the obvious logistical problems) but all those personal, selfish, greedy arguments are worse than a cheap TV soap

Hang in there Supa, better still ignore it all, keep your head down and earn as much as you can.

it seems a huge conflict of interests for the base op to be also running cars as it doesnt take a genius to work out they will give there own cars the biggest/best paying jobs :o

I think your 'collegues' are Jealous of you, your car, and your ability to do well where others are just too damn lazy to put the extra effort in that you do.

You also did exactly the right thing envolving the Police, Harassment is taken VERY seriously now.

Thanks for the funny stories Supa. I always look forward to them. You must see some proper weird things at times!!
Dont let "them" get to you. Carry on as per normal, without a care at all and they will be more cheesed off than you are.
I LOVE waving to people that dont like me, with a big cheesy grin on my face. I know theyre fuming mad after I do!!

One of the benefits when you enter your 30's is just that, you really don't care what others think (particularly if you know they're in the wrong).

Most 'mud slingers' are cowards deep down and like to bully (usually with the 'protection' of another) a 'word' in their shell without losing your temper or getting excited, but alone, is sometimes all it takes for them to know they are NOT bothering you one bit.

Failing this I'll send the boys round with bike chains

PS. I made the last bit up just to make me look tough

supafrisk wrote:Also forgot to mention, my tips have gone up 50% since I put the exec on, and 85% of customers mention the leather seats when they get in.
I think that fully vindicates my decision to put an executive on, don't you think? :cheesy:
They call that 'adopted status' it is a bit like when a person goes into a posh Hotel they actually take on the feel and presence of the place making them feel a bit special or important.

Your customers, turning up to their destination in a nice clean exec' Taxi makes THEM look better to others (like they can afford a better Taxi) so they are more generous with the tips because they are happier to have been transported in a decent car, all to your benefit.

Years ago (when I used to go out on the Town) a local taxi firm had a Vauxhall Cavalier GSi 2000 (when they were considered cool) and EVERY young lad wanted to turn up outside the pubs in that car, consequently that Cav was a VERY busy Taxi!

If you ever get in a nice Mercedes Taxi it is more like having a chaufer than a Taxi, so it is all about the 'feeling' Supa, and you must have got it spot on, who would have thought it would make so much difference eh?

Feeling for ya Supa, hope you get everything sorted out... always seems to be the way that some days just about everything that can go wrong, does go wrong! Means you're due for some good karma though, so keep smiling :D (as best you can with half your head swollen up) cos you know you're gonna get through it and come out the other end feeling good with everything sorted in your favour :cheesy:
