Shes not interested in last of the summer wine, so she won't appreciate me taking her to the pub and the cafe and what not
I did say I'd take her to blackpool...

But what else can we do while were up there
I know theres a few people on here from up that way to gimmie some clues

Emley Moor mast is the tallest free-standing structure in the UK.

Great view from Castle Hill but the pub has gone

The railway station is supposed to be architecturally notable. More importantly the Head of Steam is a really good pub.

I guess being from south Wales that the coal mining museum won't be of much interest.

go clay pigeon shooting

have fish and chips these are the best

Sam, having lived either side of Holmefirth for most of my life in both Yorkshire and Lancashire (Manchester and Bradford) I have to ask WHY? its a nice enough place for a day out but 4 days?!?! really?!

Anyway my suggestions would be a day in t' hills then a day in Leeds and a day in manchester and finally a day at digger land

Still each to their own and all that, there are some cracking roads over the moors to drive and the Film and Photography museum is good and free too 8)

If you head over to manchester the this place is interesting.

have a good time whatever you choose to do Sam.

Last year I visited diggerland with a few friends and their families, 6 adults and 4 kids, not surprisingly it was the men that had to be told that we were going home, we loved it, but the kids and women had a great time too.
There is nothing better than digger racing your mates round a dirt track in a Bobcat
its a bit agricultural but really good fun

Last of the summer wine was a bloody depressing programme from what I recall.

It was only on a sunday evening, which meant homework time and school the next day.

Also the music throughout the show wasn't exactly upbeat, and the setting was a bit too ideal for those of us who were confined to living on council estates.
3 old fellas running round going down hills in bathtubs.

I much preferred Still Game for that kind of craic.
