Holding out fine mate. I got to properly fix the rear arm rest as for some reason the screw wouldn't go in (no idea why) but apart from that there brilliant. Much nicer than their grey cloth counterparts by a mile ha

Re: Nollington Hards progress blog
Im used to a rough ride (insert joke here) but i have got used to my mates slammed cars.
I dont have a photo of my mates polo thats on the floor but i do of my other mates slammed 190e

Four of us went to skegness in his car and we had to get out and walk beside the car over speed bumps as it was too low to go over ha

Re: Nollington Hards progress blog
Nothing much today. Spent it helping my mate spray the inside of his half stripped polo (the rest of the car will be stripped soon)

It looks good for rattle cans and near minimal preparation

Also fixed my un opening fuel filler cap with a bodge, but it still looks flush when its closed so no complaints

Hes coming over to mine tommorow and helping me spray & de-rust the under side of my bonnet black
Also my lowering springs are about 20 miles away from me in a depot but they aren't getting delivered 'til monday

Re: Nollington Hards progress blog
Well i had a long day today. We took about 2 hours dropping the first strut, lost all the transmission fluid ha but the offside is done.

Many thanks to my enginering team who were paid with pizza
The nearside top strut mount turns out to have dis integrated due to rust over the years so had to order a new one that should be coming tommorow. Only got one photo but it was awful

The ring according to my friend is suppose to house bearings and we couldnt see any ha

Powered by cola and pizza
Early start again tommorow get the rear done then the new top mount

Axle stands (one bearing weight and another behind it just in case it gives way), a hydraulic jack and two tyres underneath ha so quite a bitGary406 wrote:hope you had axle stands under that car nollington .

Going to test it all tommorow. The guy in the purple shirt is doing a motorsport enginering degree and has been fiddling with cars for years and hes done the same stuff to his old polo e.g. driveshafts out etc so i've got quite a knowledge fountain to help meGary406 wrote:PS - if you lost all the ger box oil through the drive shaft popping out be carefull when you put it back in you dont damage it or you will have a leacking gearbox
I got a good relationship with them. I give them pizza they lower my car ha

Re: Nollington Hards progress blog
Its been about two weeks since i last posted on here. Ive either been skating or out a lot due to woman troubles
Anyway i got my new top mount and on it went

Goodbye old one

I can now put the sticker on ha

The finished article

+ 3 people

My mate popped a drop link by accident so on went a new one

Then gave it a clean

And finally i spotted this on my travels

Bad news though i got 2 new front tyres and the guy at the tyre shop couldn't move the tracking rods to adjust the tracking as they had rusted solid.
Got quoted £250 to replace them so not to sure what to do. Might give it ago myself though, any advice would be much appreciated
