which colour should i get

Post by trem1 »

as you all know my lovely china blue is a write off, so in all probability i am gonna get another one BUT what colour, dont think i want another china blue cos i will compare it to my first, so what should i get the wife likes the burgundy colour ( which i believe is what welton has)or i quite like one that is blue but not the two usual ones the one i like is lighter than china but more vivid than samarkand
anybody know what colour that is?? its a bit like an electric blue, does it only come on certain models/year

also what engine/model should i get

gotta have lots of toys cos i will miss them otherwise

dont mind a diesel but i also dont mind a petrol(quite like petrol performance actually)
but it is probably gonna be a tow car at some point so gotta be 2000cc petrol or diesel
i know you are all gonna say "GET THE 110" but i'm a bit scared off by the flywheel setup

how good are they really

come on chaps give me your suggestions

Get the 2.0L Executive Turbo ( Petrol ) :D

Get it in a nice Green or Silver colour... stay away from the SRi turbo, thats gash and doesn't have all the toys as the exec packed 406 !

Go On you know you want to... has to be a D8 :D

Unless they are too old for you? Then the D9 2.0 16v Sri :D

I wouldn't get anything less than a GTX, you may prefer Executive tho for the Leather and poss Sat Nav on the 2001 onward models. Dont get the 2.2HDi 136bhp, as I've heard a few tales of engine trouble. Def consider 2.0HDi 110bhp I have it, an ecu remap is about £300 and will up that to 150bhp, meaning its just as quick as a 2.0 Turbo Petrol. I can keep up with most ppl in a 2.0 Petrol in my 110.

As for colour, I'd go for Samarkand Blue or Silver if you get a choice. I like Foxy's grey colour but dont think they do that on the D9.

Search on Autotrader.co.uk for it, costs up here for a 2001 GTX/Executive will be about £5k, maybe as low as £3k if you travel 100 miles like I did tho. So some poss bargains around.

The 2.2 16v is a good engine if you can find one.
Would take alot to make a diesel as quick as a petrol, besides if you buy a diesel quickness obviously comes second to economy. Sometimes wich I had a diesel...

You know I still don't know if this is Diablo Red or not  someone called it a PINK PEUGEOT the other day  It looks brilliant in bright sunshine on clear days but can look Burgandy on dull days.

These days I would look for a Black one but then again I do like cleaning cars!

I would have the 110 Diesel, it will hold it's money quite well and will be frugal on the ever more expensive fuel, they are a decent car and eat up the miles, very comfortable and handle well for a medium saloon, they are NO racer though, they are Torquey and feel quick but no match for a petrol but then again Diesels do a different job.

I wouldn't worry about the Flywheel, mine is worn but the car was used for international Caravan Towing for 4 years so the clutch and flywheel have been hammered, they're still hanging in there at 108000 miles.

My mechanic said that you can actually convert the dual mass to a solid one it's just that you will get more 'snatch' from the clutch action, but a cheaper solution than the dual mass.
