where can i find these plastic spray cans with silver chrome color ?lozz wrote:Why?FarmerPug wrote:Although I'd advise getting the bits painted at a crash repair place at least they can paint it in a dust free environment
its all down to paitience,
loads of people spray trim parts theres no need for paying someone to do it,
if you go in places like halfords they have proper plastic paint desighned for spraying trim,
using car paint requires paitience some people will just keep spraying till its coverd that doesnt work
spray on in 3 seprate coats allowing 1o mins per coat and it will go on properly,
you must be spraying in a realy dusty place if your having problems,

Re: blue needles on clocks,
Halfords rover storm grey metalic, put the primer on first then this, has a smooth texture no need for lacquer
Re: blue needles on clocks,
its alright using car paint but it Re acts on certain plastics,
itl just look like its got bits in it not a smooth finish,
Look at car bumpers for Eg where people have just sprayed over a new bumper (plastic ones ) it peels off,
using proper plastic paint and primer saves money and time,

Re: blue needles on clocks,
I did the parts in my old shed the dust free one and they are still looking great, the new one is quite dusty mainly because its dry unlike the old one. But that paint atop some plastic primer wont do any harm on the black bits

black dials get white needles, and white dials get red needles, if i recall correclty from the time i swapped dial faces over.
The white one, a bit of blue film around the stalk where the needle sits on, which also transmits the light on a white stalk should in theory turn the needle blue.
But also the SMDs on the board could be resoldered for blue ones.
Remember someone was going to do the full dash in blue, i havent seen that yet.
