286T bulbs - cheap source
Anybody know a good source of 286T bulbs?
I could do with half a dozen and don't particularly fancy paying dealer prices
The local factors do a version, but it's the one with the longer holder
would prefer the short version
Had a quick look on ebay but nothing sprang out
I did get some 501's thanks to Gary406 for a great price, so hoping I can do the same for the 286T's

Re: 286T bulbs - cheap source
Bulbs are a sore point with me at the moment.
My D9 turns the lights on automatically (is there a way of disabling this ?), and I noticed one of my headlight bulbs had failed on a drizzly day. So rather than risk getting a ticket, I popped into the local robbing b*st*rds with the orange and black logo.
They charged a tenner
, and then offered to fit it for me for a further £5.99
. The ever so helpful assistant
also advised that they recommend both bulbs should be replaced at the same time. I paid for the bulb through gritted teeth, and then spent about 45 seconds fitting it.
The following day I ordered 2 from these guys http://shop.ebay.co.uk/motorseamus/m.ht ... .l1313ebay total cost for the pair was £2 delivered !.

I also recommend this. I've always found that when one goes the other will also go within a week or two. Also, it looks naff when you've got two different bulbs in, especially if one is nearing the end of its life and chucking out a lot less lightCatflem wrote:The ever so helpful assistantalso advised that they recommend both bulbs should be replaced at the same time.

I think I paid about £50 for two pairs of Philips x-treme bulbs on special offer (one pair for my pug, the other for my golf - got to remember to change those before selling it!) . VERY good bulbs! Chuck out a lot more light than cheapo bulbs with an incredibly sharp cut-off so I can see if I'm at risk of blinding people...

Noted, but I fear their intention is more to do with their profitability than any concern for my welfare.mjb wrote:I also recommend this. I've got a couple of spare bulbs now, so when the next one blows I'll change them both at the same time.

Just double checking
Does anybody know off top of head if the ones Jasper link'd to are the correct wattage i.e 1.2v, or is 2w correct?
