you dont need a manual its a total of undoing 4 bolts and 1 sensor.
you have 2 bolts at the engine side this calmp the cat to the manifold and 2 bolts that are at the other end of the cat that clamp the exhaust to the cat.
you also have a oxygen sensor in the cat, this needs removing and putting in the new cat it needs a 22mm spanner to undo it.

any old antifreeze will do

May I recommend RED High Performance antifreeze and not the normal Blue/Green stock stuff ! I've got it in mine and let me tell you that it makes a difference ! lol

i dont see the point in many of these special antifreeze things your better off just flushing and cleaning your coolant yearly anyway but whatever floats ya boat :)

I've noticed a 10 degree difference in operating temps in the sun.... can't wait for winter see how cold she runs then, thats why I say the RED stuff....! Some High Performance Jap motors only use RED stuff ! so I figure what the hell if its good enough for them ! its good enough for me ! lol

and its 100hp fool ! :) lol

man thats a hell of a lot of differance i might try it
im ordering my alloy rad soon and new cooling fans slimline ones that suck (oer) rather than blow (need to get rid of stock one to make room for fmic) my engine seems to get hot pretty damn quick at the moment, not that thats a problem it stabalizes at just under 90 which is fine.
my plan for the car at the moment is to get everything spot on for the 8v then next summer convert to 16v, including seam welding the engine bay.
i decided on seam welding after taking a trip to my mates who has a 250bhp 205 tt, this has decided to start pulling it self about the engine bay so we are going to have to stitch that up as he aswell is looking for more horsies. i think the plan for me is to get it running nice on 8v for a while get used to the engine management then strip the enginebay and a lot of the chassis, seam weld as much of the car as i can (not just engine bay) since i have all the welding gear and it will help stiffen the chassis. send it into the paintshopfor the respray and then while thats being done rebuild the engine with 16v head and forgies as ill be knocking on the 300bhp limit of stock internals. and that sabout as far as i can push this car then :(

it will be time to move on to either a audi quattro UR or mk1golf/mk2golfrallye with a 20vturbo and ill try VEMS managment next seems pretty awesome.

Just be careful that you don't distort anything when seaming... I know you won't.... but I've seen things go bad when theres too much welding and heat and not enough breaks in between patches ! lol

hi, just got the new cat, took the old one off., compared the two , and the new one is a good 3 inches shorter,

and the capacity of it looks alot smaller than the original.

im two minds weather to stick it on and give it a try?

You will always find that aftermarket parts are smaller in dimension than original... dont forget that manufacturing processes are made more efficent and so smaller doesnt always mean worse or poor quality, it means better ( typically ) by being able to convert the harmful gases in such a small space at the same flow rate ! :)

Seriously give it a go... and see how it works for you !

I don't think much to aftermarket CAT's I would be surprised if that wasn't more restrictive than the original CAT.

The reason the CAT housing is so big is to give it the same 'free area' as a straight through pipe (or as near as damn it) obviously the reality is that the CAT is restrictive because it is in the flow of exhaust and has to separate the gas into hundreds of tiny ports.

The bigger the free area the better the flow, I think it will work but will be restrictive at higher revs and you may find your fuel consumption goes up too.

Your CAT is probably part of a universal range which would easily cross over into other makes like a 2.0 Mondeo etc. so not exactly the one for your car but OK.
