retro-fitting interior parts to a saloon

hello fellow 406 owners

i am looking for info on fitting parts to my saloon,
my car is a 'L' trim and would like information if i can fit the climate control and electric seats and door mirrors from the likes of the GLX or Coupe versions of the 406 family to mine.

would the wiring already be there for them or would i have to change it all

Best thing to do would be, buying the GLX version ...

What's the year of your car ?

From what i could suppose it is the old 406, that have the clock climate controls ..

Cheers, mine is a 2002.
The coupe version has the climate control and electric seats

I was just wondering whether they are all interchangeable without installing the wires

Welcome in Kris!
Forget about the air conditioning, there is no wiring in place for starters and you'd also need compressor, condensor, all the pipework, control unit, and an altered setup on the aux belt. And a different fan cowl to accomodate two fans.
The electric seats have a separate ecu so this could be transplanted in theory but again you would have to sort the wiring!
It is possible to retro fit electric wing mirrors and rear electric windows if you want, but, you guessed it, you'll have to install your own wiring. I have done this on an LX, the only pain is getting the wires from the cabin into the drivers door for the wing mirror controls & feeds to the rear windows.

Ok scrub what I said, I missed your post that yours is a D9; I fitted the bits to a D8.
With a D9 you have the BSI to contend with which controls most of the kit in the car. Again I doubt the wiring looms are in place so it's probably a no go

How can a D9 from 2002 have the round knobs climate controls ?

That must got to be the lowest of the lower spec versions of a 406 ..

Let me throw in another twist, it is a 51 plate saloon registered in feb 2002

I'm not sure if it is a D9, how would I tell?

if its got a slatted front grille its d8
honeycomb grille d9
theres also a diference in rear lights d9 have a colour code trim in the middle of the lights d8 are just plain,
but yours shouid be a d9 ishouid think if its a 51 reg,
ithink d8 phazed out in 99

to check see if you have wires for electric seats pull up the blanks where the coin slots are near the key thing for the passenger air bag if you see spare conectors then you shouid have all the wiring for seats
also look under the front seats and see if you have any wires clipped into some plastic blanks,
dont pull any off tho if you have as one is for air bags

Well I checked the centre console and the trip computer and the heater controls and no extra wires which is a damn shame, also why is it after Market radios never fit properly?

you can buy a face plate off ebay for £3 odd it will make the aftermarket radio look abit tidier,
ive just got one as my radio looked lost withought the aftermarket face plate,

ah rite sorry,
iknow what you mean now.. ithink
mine wouidnt go all the way back because of the Square iso wiring block and the wires take up to much room,
what idid is take off the console side pannel pushed the iso wire through a square hole in the corner put my hand up and pulled all the wiring downwards the wires then tuck neatly behind the side cover ,

at first ithought my cd player was to long to go in but its all down to the wires taking up room for it to sit properly
