Sorry Dai, I did mean HPi :D

GTX very similar, just the slippy leather seats? nice in the Winter if heated though 8) - I do miss a warm bum in the cold weather :cheesy: small price to pay tho' to get a great car at last.

Ah but leeby's one could be a Diseasel GTX, so it might still be you and I in the HPi club Jez. :(

I think it was indeed just the leather that separated the GTX and the Exec. I loooove my leather though 8)

...and memory seat / mirrors - one simply could not live without those! (used twice in as many years IIRC).

I like GTX's and would have been equally happy to find one of them. During my car hunt, I tried 3 GTX's and 4 execs before settling on the Dogmobile.

Wierdly, I bought mine without even seeing it. I did look at a GTX Diesel in Bristol but it was a dog. Had no luck with all the car supermarkets, although I did see both a brand new exec saloon and a brand new S coupe at a car supermarket. I decided that I specifically wanted a HPi (dunno what I was thinking really   ) and had scoured the brochures to determine my desired spec, so after much deliberation I strolled into my closest main stealer and said "I want a 406 Estate, GTX or Exec, with the HPi engine, newer the better" to which he replied "You're joking aren't you, never even seen one of them...." and lots of other disinterested, negative shyte, knob!!

So I went to the next closest dealer who said "Please take a seat sir, let's have a look at the Peugeot approved used car network, would you like a tea or coffee?" :) Then he said "There's only one in the whole of the UK" and printed out the spec sheet. A bit of to-ing and fro-ing on the price over the next couple of days and I found myself giving him a £500 over the phone. I went to pick it up a week later (after it had been transported down from Peterborough) and that was the first time I laid eyes on it. Love at first sight

I did wonder why the first bloke couldn't do that but hey, his loss!!

Usually about 33 but I am quite nice to it these days. Never got less than 28, even being a bit silly in my younger years. It regularly does about 40 +/- 2 on a run. This tank is currently showing 34.9.

Awww mate you can't ask that, she's one of them wimin things mun, no concept of fuel economy!

Right it rarely does more than 2 miles in one journey, kids to school, her to her mothers, up to work, over to Tesco etc, you know the score! Whenever I bother to look at the computer its usually somewhere around 26 - 28  . I'm driving it to Cardiff and back tomorrow so I'll try and remember to reset the computer, then I can give you a more realistic figure

14 isn't the temp of the air coming out of the vents - its the desired cabin temp!

A/C is for chumps - windows down, music on = best combo!

This is the UK we're talking about here...

Windows down, rain water in, electrics shorting, leather seats ruined :P

A/C is what we use to keep the windows from steaming up on a cold winter's morning. There's no point in it any other time of year
