1.9dt glx for sale

Post by mattyg »

P1010658.JPG
Hi all due to the new arrival of my 406 executive i am selling my current car.

I mot'd it the week before xmas i think and didnt start using it until the 3rd week of jan in that time i have covered around 8000 trouble free miles in it driving my weekly commute to work and back.
In the time i have owned it i have replaced

Thermostat and coolant flush
New accelerator cable
pollen filter
Full service before i started to use it
Indicator switch
couple of drop links
wheel cylinder
Good pair of second hand rear shockers
2 glow plugs
Fog lamp
new ariel

There is probably more i will have to look through the receipts.

Good spec
4 x electric windows
electric sunroof
electric mirrors
auto wipers
central locking although only works by inserting the key as the button has fallen off the remote.

Car drives fine and i can honestly say would drive anywhere with no worries i cover at least 500 miles a week no problem. For the last 3 months i have run the car on svo i buy this from tescos and pour it straight in i save around 15-20 quid a week on my fuel costs and the car runs on it no problems at all. The car hunts a little when cold on veggy oil but stops after a few minutes it really needs a fuel heater fitting to it these are 25 quid on ebay and it really would be worthwhile. I suspect one or two of the glow plugs have failed but it still starts 2nd or third go, But usually first time.
The back end is a bit squeaky when driving over speed bumps it really needs the anti roll bar bushes replacing and the other two drop links . These parts are very cheap on ebay and are easy to fit.

Bodywork is good condition generally with no horrible dents etc worst bit being the laquer peeling on the bonnet as all these old peugeots seem to do. One alloy is a bit scabby but the spare is really good with a good michelin tire but it needs a puncture fixing. Interior isnt bad bit grubby in places generally clean and tidy though.

2 keys

Car has covered 130000 mile with pretty much complete history barring one service missed i think but will check on this when i get the book pack from work.Due a service now was going to do it next week full filter kit will be given to the new owner or if you want to pay for the oil will service next week Mot december tax july.

Drive away £375

Car is in ledbury herefordshire untill thursday so can be viewed there and will be in immingham north east lincs after that when i will be changing the insurance over so will have to be collected from there.

I have limited internet access at the moment anyone interested can text me for more info on 07793606850 will look on here as much as i can so may be able to answer questions will try and add some photos over the next few days.

Thanks Matt

I t really isnt too bad with the spare wheel fixed and that alloy fitted would look quite good was going to swop the bonnet with a guy in wales for 25 quid and that would have tidied it up a lot. There are loads this paint code being broken on ebay at the moment as well.

Offere to forum members untill the weekend then going to break it i think.

Price reflects the fact it needs a couple of jobs doing (roll bar bushes and a couple of drop links) these bits dont come to 40 quid if your handy with the spanners. Its not desperate can be driven as it is just gets a bit iritating when you go over slow speed bumps and these seem to be all the rage with our local council. really would like a forum member to have it before i try else where.

Is it the fronts or the backs that need replacing, Matt? I recently did the front ones on my 406 so they're fresh in my mind.

its the backs not to bad if you wire brush the nuts the week before and put a bit of penetrating oil on the nuts especially the saddle clips on the roll bar bushes. But like i said its only just started doing it would probably be fine till next mot. My philosophy is fix as it happens as then you get to spread the costs out and not get big mot bills.

Sorry about that, Matt but it'd cost me around 4k at a bare minimum to insure this for me which even if I share with my dad is just too much.. I hope it goes to a good home and not the scrapper otherwise I'd feel guilty and I'd hang myself in little lion man's memory :(
