Just checked his feedback - if you do bid Dave, don't send the deposit as it may not be up to scratch when you get there:

i give up on cat c and cat d's about 7 year ago as you cant make money on them or sell them as no one wants them as its law to tell them if they ask if its been claimed on before, there only good for running into the ground or for parts.

a damage repairable makes no sense. its always going to be a damaged car, and usually costs what a good one is to fix it.

Depends mate,
Hav you seen what some cars ave been written off for these days?

oh look at that little scratch its a Cat -c
My mate owns an insurance repair centre you wouid be shocked if you seen what cars hes got in the Yard and what their written off for,
and they sell for Absoloute peanuts,

if you wanted a 05 reg or a modern posh car for a grandish that needed a headlight and a scratch sorting wouid you refuse one ??

ack now a scratch wouldnt put me off, highlanders car for example wasnt something i would have been put off. but say the chasis is bent id just walk away then it definatley is a nightmare to deal with, constantly eating tyres, and bad handling. My uncle bought a sdi polo at the same time as my grampa, it was £1500 cheaper, he spent £2000 on it and it looks like the paints been applied by a toddler, the inside was missing parts of the dash, he got what he could but it looks unfinished, it wont go into reverse, and the steering judders, actually that car was scrapped. My grampas polo is still going. although being an sdi its so slow you cant really see it move.

i would refuse it as a car with a broken light and maybe needing a wing and bumper is just what you can see on the top mate, there made to fall to bits to reduce the impact, its what its moved under all that what you need to look at as bumpers and lights spring back, the VIC check will find any little defect, its not worth the hassel if you ask me. :)

bumpers gone in is always something to walk away from, but a big scratch or a broken light. Or window. Ive seen a few cars damaged because of the wife attacking the car.

Ha some damage on written off cars can be done after the accident not nesasirily it will be structural,
its like them that have a bump and the car is Empty and a week later 5 people are claiming Whiplash,

half of the cars in the yards involved in insurance claims are not koshir

they take away as much as possible to releive it of market value,
ive never seen one come with service books or paperwork the insurers loss adjuster gets them and they go straight into file 13 :(

Got a text whilst bidding, distracted me, put my a bid of £2650 in whilst sitting at £2350 with 15 secs to go
Got outbid, and couldn't get another bid in quick enough :(

The pollen filter warning light is on, i have had this checked when i had it serviced and they said it was fine but the light remains on, same as the engine light but again, this car is in daily use and the garage said there are no problems or faults coming up when the plug the machine in.
As he doesn't mention the engine light being on anywhere else.
Do they have a pollen filter warning light? Or is it anoother chancer, (like the one that claimed the DPF warning light was the handbrake recently).
