but that wheel just sounds as difficult to find as a working type c display.
what about a steering wheel with the wood effect is there any of them.
What's a type c display? The one with GPS?

A type c display can work even without GPS? It looks much nicier and has some more features if I recall correctly.

It will work without GPS; I haven't tested this myself, but I remember FarmerPug connecting one up to his car. Does your car have the CD autochanger cartridge in the boot? Also, does your car have a trip computer at the moment?

Be aware that the Type C display is controlled using an infra-red remote control handset - if you do buy a Type C display, make sure you get the remote control with it, and test that it's working. Without the remote control, you will be unable to set the date/time, the language settings, whether you want temperature in Celsius or Fahrenheit, or whether you want your trip computer to measure average speed in MPH or KPH.

Yep and yep. I wasn't planning this upgrade yet, but I'll look around for a type c display when I go to a scrapyard for something else.

Yes they did do a leather/wood steering wheel, it was made by momo I'm fitting one to my coupe when I get round to fitting the wood look trim.

OK, the Momo OEM wheel for the 406 is rare as rocking horse sh*t, apparently. Looks like they were only fitted to certain D8 V6s

Here is a pic I found on a car for sale (http://carsunder500.co.uk/peugeot-406-3 ... r-tax-mot/)

I have to confess, I don't like it.

its a bit turd looking
but i do like that d8s creaminess, the door handles, the lower dash are all cream. peugoet should have done the upper soft touch dash in cream like the 607 is a much nicer place to be.
