pics are crap it does look alot better,
not perfect but it livens the car up abit and for under £20 its not too bad ,
none of it will destroy the car either it will just all peel back off if iever change my mind.

ifound away of adding lighting to the floorwells and the doorhandles,
the leds iused tho couidnt handle a straight 12v so ihad to cancel that one will order some proper bulbs and sort that next

ironically my ingenious super duper ldr set up is currently, well, if it was peugeot who made it we would say french electrics, so you get the idea i hope its just the contacts of the switch have come loose.

Im thinking of what to do next, Maybe "
Hopefully get rid of the Grey seats, and take out the Grey seatbelt trim and dash plastics spray them black,
once the interiors done will be looking at doing something with the wheels theres- no Tsw reflex out there anymore shame
then last thing will be to try and fit a gearbox out of a 90 bhp will be able to get rid of the Dmf if that goes to plan,
dont know what else to do after that, ithink theres not much out there Mod wise for the 406 shame tho as its a good build id say for a Peugeot,

why would you spray the black dash black?
some nice nimrods is what i have my eye on at the moment and 206s have nice 15 inch ones.
you can get a solid flywheel conversion, wouldnt that be better than changing the gearbox.

for your mirror to fold, you need to move the circle button on your door towards down, right ? Did your car came with that controller on the door ? why only folds the driver mirror? cuz mine there isn't that function, even tough, the angles are electrically managed by the door controller, well in my car's manual says that in some versions there is this controller. I think my mirror's aren't heated up, do i need to press any button so they heat up ? maybe the rear screen heater button ?

Strange, isn't that have the need of a slight different door controller ? because the folding one, have a circle mark down to the 6 o'clock of the circle that controls the mirrors , when you push it down that way the mirrors will start to fold ...does your have this function ?

the bottom of the dash is grey on mine frank the part at the bottom fuse box area,,
doesnt look right hardly noticable but iwant the black and chrome effect to blend in 3 colours sort of make it a overkill

yes mate,
it has that function idont know why maybe the door as come off a higher spec car,
the folding mirror is only on the drivers side not both the mirror jams up if i try to get it to power fold so its totaly pointless iwill eventualy just get a standard lx control and mirror and take them off .. someone said these functions are controlled by the bsi ithink there just plug and play my self but the car is a strange one as its got hidden secrets ikeep finding maybe it was going to be a exec build and a customer as canceld a order the wiring is there for most of the things higher spec models have im baffled but im sure the extra wires and plugs it has will comein useful one day,

Would be better off getting the bits from a car that had the black dash. You need:

Driver's end piece
Headlamp adjuster/diagnostic socket
Fuse cover
Glovebox
& glovebox housing

Most breakers would let you have that lot for £20 which is near enough what you'd spend painting them. It's all easy enough to change, apart from the glovebox housing which has 2 screws put in from behind it.

problem is all the bits in the cars in the breakers ive seen are more or less the same as what ive got,
the 406 is common for taxis up here so all the best bits get snapped up before they enter a yard
and if you look at ebay prices theyl charge you £20 for a bit of plastic that wouid cost £2 from a yard and then theres postage on top, ihave to do the best ican with the little cash iget to play with My 7kids and my wife and dogs get the best part of my income

the scrap yard iuse is realy cheap for parts,
was suprised the other week iwent in for a steering column for a late vectra icouidnt get the steering wheel off as ididnt have alot of tools with me
isaid to him shal itake the air bag off he replied no keep it we throw airbags and steering wheels away we dont want them

so iwalked out with the full thing indicator stalks on it and everything £15
ieven came away with the ign key and it was remote key too barrel and imobilser reader

All you need is a Rapier, a Coupe (D8 or D9) or saloon/estate (D9) that had black or beige interior. Have you tried Ady the coupe breaker? He'd have plenty of black dash plastics to spare & he usually gives discounts to forum members. Ebay sellers may charge £20 for these cheap bits of plastic, but when you check the completed listings you nearly always find the prices are in red to indicate that they didn't sell them. Somebody like Ady who'd have plenty of it to spare probably wouldn't charge too much for the whole set.

ive tried asking sellers on there in the past for parts they say full car Breaking but someof them carnt be arsed removing abit of plastic theyd prefare to sell bits that wouid bring in a instant £50 Greedy someof them too,

if they carnt make big money outa parts they will make it out of the postage,

the problem at the moment is that my scrapyard has no 406s, when i got my car there was millions of them, he says he just hasnt got any in.
heres a money maker, buy a drivers electric window switch, put it on ebay i am certain you will make £40 of profit.
