if the time comes to sell it dave. spend a good few hours cleaning it as you would when you was keeping it.
take a few few photos. engine, inside. outside from all angles. boot. add as many pics to listing as you can 8)

and do a classified on ebay and do a proper listing.

you see some listings and its shocking to think any1 would be even interested in buying what there selling because the advert it just poor. it puts people off. a brilliant bright add will atract people

(you probably know this but i'll say anyway - selling something is all about the advertising 8) )

I've bought some Autoglym polish, and intend to spend a few hours polishing it up

Going to finish these wires first though

Drivers seat out
Wires into seat
Radio out
Air con control out
Carpet back in
Centre console back in
Seat back in
Route earth and wire for 1368 up to the MFD
Change all bulbs blown as bought a 10 pack of the 286T's

Yeah, plenty of work to do
Probably won't see a reward for it though  :(

Not going to cancel that

I have 17k left on the mortgage and 5 years left on it
Currently paying £313 a month and interest rate is 4%

Loan is technically incorrect
It's additional borrowing on my mortgage
By going to a tracker mortgage at only 2.69%, borrowing a further 8k and adding two years to my mortgage, i'm only going to pay £330 a month
As it's an application in one instead of two, i'll borrow the money regardless, as the saving on the interest rate pays for the loan i.e not having much additional outlay ( bar the last two years )

If I don't spend it on a car, then it's new kitchen, patio, front door etc
But believe me, if I can get the car i'm looking at, I think you'll be impressed
As soon as I saw it, I knew I had to have it

Was it the 2.2 in the link you posted? That did look nice. If you're getting £8k you'll still have a bit left over for repairs (if needed) & maybe still get the new kitchen too.

Had a squizz at some other 2.2 HDis earlier - the Citroen C5s. Was quite shocked to find that it's easier (& cheaper) to get a 407 than it is for the equivalent Citroen C5. Was the same with the 2.0 models too. I always thought it was supposed to be the other way round as traditionally the Citroens were always cheaper than their Peugeot counterparts.

tyres will be pricey cos there 18" wheel's  and its got the absolutely gorgeous sport bumper on the front a neat rear spoiler as well. make sure you get some kinda warranty even if thats only 30 days worth just in case but go for it you jammy bugger...........i would

I do hope so as I emailed the seller yesterday:
Hi

Is it possible for you to give me some more information in regards to the service history for the above car please

I'm primarily interested in work related to :
Clutch
DMF
FAP
and Cambelt
But the more information the better please

Dave
and this was the reply
Hi Dave, i`m afraid it`s not possible to give any further information on said items as i only have the stamp of the Peugeot dealer in the service book and not an itemised service printout. In saying that i`m sure if there had been any issues they would have been rectified at the time as all are in perfect working order. Regards, Gary.

Has that put you off a bit then Dave? Don't panic too much about it. He's based his assumptions on the standard Peugeot service schedule & he's probably right. Just because the invoices aren't ther, it doesn't mean it's iffy. My old 523i Touring I bought came from a Doctor & although I got to see all the receipts when I bought it, I only took the stamped book with me as he needed to keep all the invoices for the accountant. Could be the same story with that 407.

That said though, if you do have any bad feelings about it, don't be over dazzled by the bodykit & wheels. You're spending a fair chunk of cash so you should feel secure with what you're getting. I actually quite liked that first blue 2.2 you posted up as it had lower mileage, but I do have to admit, the XS model would be a rare treat - there's hardly any of them for sale.
