I think the 406 est looks so much better than the saloon myself and i've always been a saloon man too
but as for black,i've had a few black cars and they look the dogs but i think i spent more time cleaning them than driving them
thats why now i tend to go for silver, dont care if they are common cos i am lol,i can leave my car a month without a clean and people still say how do you keep your car so clean
silver just dont show the dirt.
i've taken same approch with my scoob, silver blue depending on txhe light, but always looks clean
Black car look awesome dont think anyone would disagree, but there is a down side, you are always polish n cloth in hand

modifying gone too far, and not done too well. The rearview mirror looks like a psp

What is it with boy racers? They smooth and debadge the outside, but the inside they have a non-factory fit CD player instead of leaving the / buying a flush fit factory unit, and every vent has a daft looking air freshener. And the obligatory satnav constantly mounted right in their line of vision, even if they only ever use the car for nipping down the road.

i dont like all the smoothing, i prefer a more angular sharp looking car. sort of why i hate the look of early 90s japanese sports cars.
your right about the inside, fit and finish are not things they understand, when you put something into a car you should try and make it fit in with everything else, this looks like hes got a few bits to take back to halfords lying around.

Seconded.
I do not see the point in making a car look questionably good on the outside and then leaving the stock stuff inside, with no personalization whatsoever... I want the INSIDE of my car to look good and to be practical, I do not care much about the outside.
If I had the possibility to do that the first "mod" I'd do to mine 406 would be fitting leather interior and a carpc, not fixing the stone chips on the bonnet.

i agree, the inside is where you spend the time in the car as you drive it.
although my car is sorted that way now as it is, it needs a type c display, and an ipod dock.
If i seen a set of the silver dash parts on ebay or in the scrap yard, id buy them and put them in my car, they look a wee bit better than the painted ones.

What I meant was, the outside is smoothed out, but the inside has an obvious third party audio unit that does not fit flush to the rest of the dash, whereas the stock CD player would have and would probably have looked smoother in this particular car.OdinEidolon wrote:Seconded.

( Not against 3rd party audio units, I am going to fit a CD player to the Honda, just when they spend so much effort on attempting a smooth look, it does not help the interior )

thats the problem with aftermarket stuff, a new radio yes its fine, but you can go too far and end up with an aftermarket looking interior which makes the car a halfords repmobile.
