PP2000 Won't let me in into Engine Ecu

Talk about the 406's electrical system, what wires do what, how to add extra functionality, etc.

PP2000 Won't let me in into Engine Ecu

Post by RayneR »

When i try to enter into the engine ECU like this way :

ECU configuration and services > Test by ECU > Engines / Manual > Diesel > Bosh EDC15C2

But when it starts comunicating with the ECU stays there for 2 minutes or so.. and then reports that the ECU didn't answer ( even in the global test the engine ECU <-this one will look like that the PP2000 has freezed because it takes very very long time, but not, ABS ECU, AIR BAG ECU, says that it didn't answer ), then ask me if the motor starts, i say yes.. then says me that i should check the transmission cable or something like that ..

I read somewhere that in PP2000 even if we have manual gearbox we should choose the automatic gearbox so we can enter ... is this info correct ?

What i'm trying to do is finding the configuration menu on the engine ECU... i'll post pics when i go again to the garage...

Do you have the ignition switched on, and is the car out of economy mode?

Yeah, the ignition was on, and it wasn't on economy mode ... i think i must do it the wrong way, i fully turn the ignition to the last point where all the icons on dash shows up ( but didn't turn on the motor )..but i think to be able to acess it i must position the ignition on the " Accessories only mode " , which only shows up the Battery icon on the dashboard, am i right about this ?

Or was the " automatic gearbox " bit that i missed ? i was choosing manual gearbox ...

I've always selected manual gearbox, and the key position required is ignition on, not just accessories. Try it with the engine running

i think the reason doesn't work is because his lexia 3 interface is a clone .. i read on the internet that clones doesn't get well with some ECU's ... That's why i can't codify some stuff on the MFD it says " programming defective " and it change nothing ...

Well his PP office is a bit obsolete is the 22.something version... i'll try to update it to a more recent version ...well if it wont work i'll have to find someone here with a genuine lexia and PP2000 :( which will be hard to find ..OR go to the local dealer

I'll post pics later, i'm not at home, i was there today and took some pics...

The gearbox as nothing to do because the test on the motor ECU is not related to the gearbox ecu ... it's on the same section but in a different menu,

your PP interface is a clone too ( i mean the diagnostic tool the material not software )? and it works fine ? but i wont mind redirecting you were i read it or maybe he just wants to sell it ...

""YES" GENUINE PSA EVOLUTION INTERFACES WILL WORK AND UPDATE THESE WILL NOT DAMAGE THE CARS YOU WORK ON AND GUESS WHAT WILL COMMUNICATE WITH ALL MODELS AND ALL ECUS UNLIKE CLONES "

Well, in someway i do belive him, because from my experience i'm having a bit dificult time to program the MFD and even get into the engine ECU ...

But can i do this:

Create a Virtual machine with XP SP1/3 ON my windows 7 laptop

Use the PP in that ?

Edit: Here is the PICS:

My clone has trouble with some ecus too... Wish I'd spent the money on the genuine part (around £400 from dealers iirc)

well.. spending 400 £ ( likely here in Pt would be around 500 EUR ) just to " try " something is a bit :? :?

Because the problem is it can't even work what i want to change on the ECU... then would be 500 EUR to the trash ...not risking it .. maybe they would do what i want with less money ...

By the way, does the Updating software of the ECU and/or BSI work with the clone things ?

Maybe is peugeot planet office isn't working has it should ? Well i' trying to install the PP office onto my laptop and see what comes out...

Today i have an PSA XS evolution interface at my possession, well i asked my mechanic if the intarface was a clone or original ... he said that the person he bought it said it was original .. i have a picture of the back of it .. Does it have something that differs from the clone ones or vice versa ? Is there anything that we can spot right away from a clone or an original one ?

In the back of the interface says there : MADE IN FRANCE <- suppose this is an original if not there would be and MADE IN CHINA or MADE IN P.R.C ( P.R.C stands for People of republic of china ) or am i wrong ?

I'hav updated the Peugeot planet office on his computer but i could not enter the ECU engine anyway ..

I have now the interface and i want to test it out tonight, please could use some help, i'll try first installing the PP2000 in my laptop ...

thank you.

I don't have the instructions...

then, i'm f*cked probably ...if it didn't work very well in his computer i bet it will not work well on mine .. FOCK clones, they look like the original ones but they don't do anything useful ( taking an exception that enabled my trip computer ) like the iphones clones
