In my opinion Bailes, you have made the right choice by you
And this is coming from someone who works in IT, has a CCNA and the Computer Science degree
However, there is no point doing it if you don't feel that it will motivate you, as it would end up as what you do for the rest of your life until retirement. Sitting at a desk in front of a computer all day is not for everybody.
I know people who work in IT who are demotivated, and they have said that they would rather have done a trade job. However, what lured them in was the careers adviser promise of cash (it isn't great tbh compared to trades and banking) and a professional job (most IT jobs you wear normal clothes, and if you are demotivated you wont want to sit and do it anyway).
Always follow your dream, what *you* want to do, not what careers advisers / friends / parents tell you you should do.
So good on you Bailes, good luck!
