Talk about the 406's electrical system, what wires do what, how to add extra functionality, etc.

Thanks for the reply Lozz just checked the heated rear window and the light comes on so I surmise that fuse is ok its just that since I ground through some wires then re connected them my washers dont work and my fuel guage is showing full.

i am sure its fuse 5 under the dashboard.[also does dipped beam warning light on instrument panel]
i am also having lots of electric proplems at the moment and i cant get my washers to work but my fuse is good.
but if there is one under the bonnet i dont no what number it is as my 10 amp ones are
9 lamb senser
10
fuel pump
12 left fog lamp
13 right fog lamp
14 left main beam
15 right main beam
this is for a d8

Thanks guys its a bit of a conumdrum all the fuses are intact so it looks like an auto electrician job .It could be a strange coincidence that the washer pump packed up just before I cut through the wires , because the washers were working the day before because I changed one of the washer jets. :?

Just an update the auto electrician took off the fuel guage sender wire and cleaned it hey presto it works .The washer motor had decided to pack up although it worked 9 hours before I ground through the wires big coincidence  roll on next week when my MOT is due
