Evening all, I'm Dave and have recently bought my first Peugeot a couple of months back.
Obviously its a 406 otherwise I wouldnt be here
1999 D9 406 Family Estate 110 HDi GTX with 74K on the clock.
Have to say I'm very impressed with the car, only trouble I had was with the aircon (condenser was shot).
Married with two kids, Joe 5 and James 2. Joe loves the seats in the boot.
Consider myself reasonably clued up when it comes to cars, didnt know much about Diesels though but I'm learning.
I do alot of model car racing, computer fiddling but my first love was motorcycles until the kids came along
Got a few bits I want to do to the car, main one is to source a full set of cruise control bits.
Fog

Hello Chillblanes ! ! !
I'm Neil, 25 years old no kids that I know about.. I'm a student bum, but have worked various jobs for the last 8 years since leaving school... I love my 406 to peices so much so that I will not or never sell it, when I get my next car, this will become a full custom project car.
I like most things in life, I'm not racist I hate everyone
joke ! ! I love to drive, and can happily spend all my student loan on petrol, ok and beer ! ! but not at the same time......
My best 406 moment : racing a UK subaru and actually kicking its ass, not through speed but through balls, obviously he didnt have any ! I beat him on every corner even though he had 4 wheel drive, he could pull away from me on open straights but ever corner I passed him, it was like he was scared of the 4 wheel drive config ! ! !
I dont care I won...
I now just want to picth my car against the STi's and Evo's thats my mission: w00t w00t !
So far my mods are:
Garrett T25 Hybrid Turbo - suprisingly running standard boost
PowerFlow Full custom Decat stainless
APEX 40mm lowering springs
GrpA BOV
17" Kahn RSR replicas
Next Mods:
60mm Lowering springs for rear of car
Uprated shortened Gas dampers for rear
Induction filter with home made Cold Air Ram Feed ( special project )
Uprated Intercooler
Planned mods when not a student anymore:
Brembo Caliper set and discs from 406 coupe.
Forged JE Pistons - with competition rings
Ported and Polished head with larger inlet and exhaust valves
Longer duration Steel Cam
Quaife LSD
MoTec M800 stand alone ECU
50BHP kit of laughing gas !
Will push around 300bhp reliably - ecosse do a chip tune and some head work with higher boost and it pushes 220bhp using standard Intercooler and pistons, although they do offer new forged pistons for the upgrade.
My Plans will Push 250BHP without the Nos then the extra 50 progressively when racing subarus and evos
)
Its gonna take a while to do it and get everything sourced and put together, but it will be well worth it when done.. I'm a 406 freak and I love it ! ! ! !

Hi, I'm Adam. I have been fighting for the honour of the 406 on other forums but unfortunately the world of motoring is chav-infested.
I didn't even know there were any English forums about the 406. I'm glad I found this one. And I've seen my all-time dream car here...a silver 406 with Viper stripes!!

Hi all!
My name is Dave, I'm 34 years old, and I'm a financial adviser for a high street building society.
I own a 1999 V reg 406 1.8 Rapier 4 door saloon in samarkand blue pearl, given to me free of charge by my dad! Well, he's not exactly been the most careful of drivers and the body needs some TLC, not to mention a new rear passenger door... but it's done just under 34,000 miles, FPSH, and by the time I've restored the exterior it'll look just like new!
Apart from being a different colour, cos I haven't found a body shop yet who can match the samarkand blue
I have no major upgrades planned for the car, other than to fit a genuine Peugeot CD player to replace the radio cassette, this car is basically going to be my daily drive for the next year or so, giving me time and money to work on my OTHER car.... a 1988 E reg Ford Escort RS Turbo which is soon to be a 2.0 16v turbocharged 300bhp stripped out track monster.
Well... that's me!
Dave
