Alothough there one big bunch of wires if you follow them about you will find plugs where the dive off into different sectors.
Well the fueling loom had all corroded in the college carpark.
Found it by chance, the GF had gone first so didnt notice I couldn't get my car started, i was pulling my hair out because the AA wouldn't come out (too close to home) so just pulling random plugs and sticking them back in.
Looked at this one plug and it was full of white fur
Scraped the fur off with my keys, plugged it back in and it started up srtaight away. Fecking thing.
Got home and cleaned the plug out with some WD40 and a paint brush and put some vasline around the outer casing of the plug to keep it dry.
im going back to ford but old ford not new ones.
no sensors and ecu's, points and a dizzy much eaiser to fix

"Understeer" is when you hit the fence with the front of the car.
"Oversteer" is when you hit the fence with the rear of the car.
"Horsepower" is how fast you hit the fence.
"Torque" is how far you take the fence with you.
Old skool fords where kool, iused to love the mk1 scroats ,

Amazing to think less than 30 years ago they were putting 1.1 engines in what nowadays is Focus class.
I dont' think you can get less than a 1.4 Fiesta now, Focuses a 1.6.

This is true, the twinair. Had a write up in the register. Very clever tech
I hate the Fiat 500 (the new one, as well as the original). I guess I have a real dislike for tiny little cars, as I think the Mini (old and new) are crap too... And the Smart ForTwo...
Cars, for me, have to be comfortable and spacious inside. Where's the fun in stuffing 5 people inside a tiny car - 3 people squished into the rear bench like sardines - no room for all the shopping or luggage in the tiny little boot - the overloaded little engine (designed to pull well with 1 or 2 people in it) struggling to cope with the weight...
Nah, I'll stick with bigger cars with more powerful engines.

Yeah, I reckon the 406 is plainly and simply in the wrong insurance group. Makes no sense to me

i dont like the shape of the 500, the panda is a much better idea, and to stop the torture of 3 people being crammed in the back there is no middle seatbelt, so the panda is a 4 seater like a coupe. Although legroom is an issue in the back of the panda.

It's all down to power-to-weight ratios and the time-space continuum.
I followed* an old cortina the other day and the exhaust fumes *stank* it's amazing how we've done away with stinky fumes too and how quickly we've forgotten what it was like.

Jamjar, that little Escort is exceptionally cool!!
While I love my big cars (previously had a Xantia, 406 and now in a US market-based manufacturer imported Accord Coupe), I do like small fun cars.
Fond memories of my first car, a 4 speed 1.2 mk1 Clio. Had to be ragged everywhere, and was utilitarian in features, but that was part of the fun.
A friend had a Fiat Cinquecento, was like a wee go kart.

Welly said I really do wonder, now that I'm driving an ubber economical Ashtray van day-to-day which can be driven recklessly and parked anyhow and anywhere, whether it is better to run about in a workhorse/shitter and then hire a nice car for visiting relatives/travelling etc and then hand it back [/quote]
Snap. I use the works Pug expert HDI van most of the week and its lovely reliable cheap transport. It dosent matter where i park it, and the police ignore me as i drive around. And i've just spotted how cheap some of the really nice cars are to hire at the weekend. Interesting thought that Welly.
