Bottom ball joints
I have just replaced my link arms and bottom ball joints today, I recently bought off E Bay for a mere £21 a SEALEY Peugeot 405 406 407 Ball Joint Socket Set SX0271and by golly am I glad I did, not sure I would have got them out without it. I would fully recommend it.I hope this will help some of you in the fuure. Next project will be the brake discs, pads and shoes.(after thought :- I think I've put this in the wrong place, sorry )

I don't know where they get 407 from, the 407 ball joints are a completely different fit to the 405/406.

Re: Bottom ball joints
Yes Trem, you are correct, it is for the TOP ball joint, the top ball joint has 4 holes to fit the socket in (just had a look at mine).
I should have looked first
The bottom ball joint just knocks off with a chisel once you undo the 3 bolts holding the ball joint case to the bottom arm.
