"Understeer" is when you hit the fence with the front of the car.
"Oversteer" is when you hit the fence with the rear of the car.
"Horsepower" is how fast you hit the fence.
"Torque" is how far you take the fence with you.

Re: Egr valve problem,
Once a year i squirt a can of egr cleaner through the air intake. You take the air filter top off and squirt the whole can in via the air inlet with the engine ticking over. Works a treat and makes a big difference to my 110. Costs about £4 from my local auto factor. Just found it on Ebay, but its a lot dearer than my local auto factor. Its called Wynns egr3 intake egr cleaner if you fancey a look. Used it a couple of times and it does work, but you must use it as the instructions say and use the whole tin in one session.

Re: Egr valve problem,
It does that as the dirt and sh*t gets burnt off. I wouldnt advocate using it to often, but it does do the trick on my 220,000 mile HDI110.poddack wrote:I have tried some egr3 but it makes my engine knock so much it scares me!

Re: Egr valve problem,
its a very slim difference yes except at motorway speeds theres a bit more punch up there.
Re: Egr valve problem,
Italked to a deisel mechanic about removing the egr on mine,
he said Dont do it unless the Egr is knakerd,
He explained to me about the shite the egr throws back into the engine some of it is crap but some of it is Sulphur and deisel engines like a bit of sulphur,
the new deisel dosent have sulphur its been removed so people look for stuff with sulphur that the engine likes hence adding 2 stroke oil in the tank thats my next thing im going to try,
so as a guess the egr gets some engine oil and vents that into the engine imight be wrong tho,
thats the only thing ican find out why the egr is left on,
ialso noticed the time itried bio in the car there was a big differnce in power this couid be the sulphur theory maybe idont know,

Re: Egr valve problem,
this whole egr thing confuses me i can get a lot of pros and a lot of cons its hard to know i thought that at the age of our cars the egr is getting old and less efficent and its better to blank it off
Re: Egr valve problem,
itried blanking mine off today,
its better at low end , but smokes like feck on the motorway,
ive put it back on now,
imade a blanking plate from a beer can so money lost trying it

Re: Egr valve problem,
the blanking plate isnt actually one there is 2 needed, i have no smokey problems, ive even tried to induce smoking by revving the car to the limiter and it wont make any black clouds anymore like it did with the egr.

Re: Egr valve problem,
i see,
i wouldnt have blanked it off only at the time i was told it was good and i had the egr out of the breaker car sitting out for refrence purposes, its still sitting out for refrence purposes.
the nice thing about the blanking plates is that they can just be taken out again if required, although doing it was a bit fiddly, not impossible just a few sharp edges in there to scrape your hands worse than an angry cat.
