Classic Car Club?

Post by ToddM »

Well, I've been thinking, guys.. You know the first 406s will be 20 years old in a few years time.. most of you are moving on to better or smaller cars. What will happen to the club then, will we be a classic car club? No matter what, I'll always remember the 406 as a fantastic practical car with a fine drive. Once you move on from your much loved 406s what will you remember them as?

When there's less than 10 of us still here happy to spend our lives fixing random electrical faults on our old 406s - that's when we'll be a "Classic Car Club".

Don't really care whether you call it classic, vintage, or just plain old - I plan on sticking around for a bit.

The older & tattier mine gets, the more it upsets people that can't catch it.

Hoping to get one more before it's too late. 8)
2002 HDi 2.2 Exec Estate, (2008-12) (wonderful)
2003 HDi 2.2 6-speed Exec Estate (2012-19) (also a gem)
2009 Citroen C5 2.0 HDi VTR+ Estate (godawful heap)
2008 BMW E91 330i touring (great fun - murdered by a reversing SUV)
2007 BMW E91 325i touring (slower smoother quieter)

Depending on the money front, i.e if the remortgage goes through, i'll be looking for a 407 SW XS Sport 2.2HDI Bi-turbo, but if not, then a 2003 2.2 406 is on the cards, although saying that, I can't help myself with projects with the plodmobile even though i'm contemplating selling it, as I have something else on the cards, although i'm not adding it to my "To do" list
1999 D8.5 HDi GLX - Sold :(

2007 Mondingo Zetec - I seek forgiveness :( Bring back my 406

If you don't tell us what it is how can we convince you it's a great idea? :cheesy:

as it is my 406 is the best looking, the best equipped, most powerful, most economical and most comfortable car ive ever owned. But it is just my 3rd car.
I plan to keep it, some electrical niggles, loose trim, and irritating squeaks arent hard to fix, its a good strong car inside.
