cheap 406 hdi anyone ?

Post by lozz »

Anyone want a cheap clean tidy, 406 hdi saloon ?

ive just landed my self anew job, theyve just rang to tell me iwill be getting a company car,
its not a peugeot but its classy enough for me and it will save me a few quid no insurance etc to pay for,

so the 406 might as well go idont want to just park it up,

theres 6mth tax 6mths mot remaining,

only faults on the car is the handbrake switch is faulty the light flickers now and again comon fault £3 part needed,
lower engine mount needs replacing but its not bad yet,

rear handbrake shoes couid do with replacing the handbrake holds but ithink the shoes are getting half way down.

other than that shes a reliable motor and economical,.

anyone interested im looking for £600 for it no offers, itwouid sell for a grand on ebay but id sooner it go to someone on the forum.

bodywork is clean its got the odd age related mark but no big dents or scrapes no rust,

its also a import but the car came from ireland originaly so its still uk so wont play any affect on the cost of insurance,

Sounds like an Ebay offer to me. They always try because occasionally people say yes.

You have pointed something out though. What was the tread like on the tyres on your steel wheels? If they were ok, it would be a much better bet to sell the alloys separately. The car is still worth £600 with steelies & you can make a few quid back on the alloy wheels.

Funnily enough I had the same thought, but he's probably too far away & Bailes is hung up on getting an Exec or SE now.

Any idea why an SE or an Executive are cheaper to insure than this?
I'd feel bad giving you just 700 quid for it, mate. Do what waue suggested, whack it on ebay and sell the wheels separately I guess.
