Re: Digital Cameras
Im not clued up on cameras tbh,
ive had few good ones in the past. they were under £90 but they didnt last a year,
iguess you get what you pay for,
My dad buys Minolta or PRactika he rekons there good dunno about that tho,
Pop into a Asdas theres somegood cameras there and they will let you have A demo of the cameras,
Try before you Buy might be a good option,

I have a Canon EOS 550D, photography is hobby of mine
Those Lumix are pretty good.
Panasonic TZ are excellent but more expensive of course.

Re: Digital Cameras
I had a 8mp pentax which can only be described as a disappointment.
The key things i see a camera needing is compensation for vibrations, the ability to take photos in the dark without the need to have a flash on, and to be able to take the next picture quickly.
Ive just got the iphone which makes a good use of its 3mp, but my aunt has a 7.1mp cannon as well as an 8.1mp cannon, they are very good cameras they have all them things i mentioned

Sony DSLR AS300 for me and its the best one i have had, I dont really do photography as a hobby but this thing would allow me to get right into it as it has all the options and its a dslr so you can change the lenses and all that jazz, i thought it might be a bit too much for just snapping away but it has been perfect for the whole family to use.

Re: Digital Cameras
its a minefield. ive recently been bought a GE X5 bridge camera which is 14.1 mp and seems to be working out well for what i want. At £99 from asda the price was ok as well, so in the event i lose it/drop it or something like that i wont be too gutted. Ive still got my finepix a610 point and shoot which takes nice pictures as well but i fancied something a BIT better without going down the full dslr route yet.
What do you want from the camera?? IE: general family camera, point and shoot or the ability to take professional shot's?

I think after having a few £150 cameras, I found the zoom on some of them to ba a bit of a disapointment, and when I come to buy my next camera, will be lloking for something with plenty of zoom on it, as I think mine is 3X which I don't find enough

Re: Digital Cameras
I've got a Canon EOS 400d which I've had for a few years, it's brilliant and you can't beat an SLR but I can't always be arsed to lug around the camera bag
. So before I went on holidays last year I had a last minute impulse buy and got a Canon SX120, it's a cracking camera, it's a compact with lots of features that outperforms many much more expensive bridge cameras.

I know what you mean, sometimes it's a pain carrying all the gear then changing lenses for different shots etc.
