Anyone changed the 2 long brake pipes that go from under the drivers side to the compensator at the rear? Need to do mine but just tried to shift the fittings on the compensator and it won't budge! even with a bit of heat.
Was going to get a couple made up although they look a bit of a nightmare to do as they pass up side and back of tank.
Anyone tackled it before? tips!
Thanks a lot.

Re: rear brake lines
My only tip is,
if they wont come loose with a brake spanner leave them and get a garage to do it,
you couid end up with a snapped pipe be careful,
other option is buy a roll of brake pipe and a flaring kit cut pipe before the union and tie into the pipes from there some flaring kits comewith all the differnt types of unions, thats the only way ican think of,

If I get a tight brake pipe union and am replacing the pipe, I cut the pipe off at the union and fit a hexagon 3/8 drive socket on the nut and undo it that way.
If I have brake pipes to fit and they look very difficult to get at, I usually look at re-routing the pipe to make the job easier.
I am a very experienced mechanic and this is my way of doing things, but as lozz said, if you are not sure what you are doing, get a garage to fit them.
Re: rear brake lines
Thanks for ideas. I'm confident at doing brake work, just my luck the unions wouldnt shift. Cutting pipe off and using a good socket will be my next attempt. Didnt think of re-routing the pipes though i'll have another look. cheers.
